Can't Find Client.dll?

I had this problem when trying to run NS on Linux and couldn't find a decent solution anywhere. After further experimentation I found a workaround and thought I should share it with the community for the benefit of mankind and the process of intellectual evolution.

Because of Wine's typically faulty installation handling, it's usually easier to install Half-Life on a Windows network computer then copy the files over the network to your Linux machine. All mods installed prior to copying will work. If you want to install another mod, however, you've got to copy your entire Half-Life directory all over again. Just copying the /ns/ directory will result in a "Can't load Y:/Half-Life/ns/cl_dll/client.dll".

I hope this is helpful.

It's actually quite easy. If you want any help getting HL running in Linux w/ wine, let me know. rs_woods@yahoo.com
