Will you try to get it?
Well, i know a ton of new mods that dont have it, and the only thing that they request so they can give admin mod and metamod support is the entity list. So i was wondering if you guys would try and get it supported before or soon after the release.
Just asking, because admin mod support seems to also bring server operators in because of its ease of use and all.

source, quote: "or someone I would add"
i mean just imagine a lone marine charging into the enemy base saying:
roll the dice
xxx rolled # and #
xxx won godmode!
xxx has had godmode enabled on them
they run into the base, anihilate everything, then when it wears off, instantly dies cause hes being mobbed by bobs (kinda like flayra was in that one pic huh?) then again... imagine a level 5 doing the same...
or, just think how admins could abuse their powers... they become commander, tell a teammate to go straight into the enemy base and:
admin_godmode xxx
admin_noclip xxx
and a few mins later, no more aliens...
let this be a warning not to add that plugin onto NS servers (bad enough in CS its best in sven co-op)
the sound plugin... would be wierd since i mean, aliens going "haha"? or "doh!" "aww crap" etc. that shouldnt be added to any NS server either... so admin mod is a good idea, just not all the plugins for it should be used (hardly any should be actually, if it changed gameplay in any way, dont use it) consgreet ones, anti-cheat ones, badword filters etc. why not? map-voting is also a good one for NS so, its a good idea overall in short:
get adminmod supported, dont let server ops use gameplay changing plugins

Flayra,
It's not AdminMod 'support' you need, but metamod
mail Will Day "will at metamod dot org" about getting your entitys into metamod.
If metamod has entity support for NS, then the adminmod base commands (essentially easy access to standard rcon HL commands) at the very least should work immediately.
Then it's up to the NS community to write NS specific adminmod plugins.
In fact, If you wanna give me a list of essential NS server CVARS and commands I can even cook one up for release, provided Will Day has updated metamod with the entitys of course

Someone mentioned adminmod and metamod support.. I was just clarifying
Of course, you're right, MM has NS 1.0 support! w00t!
Now all we need is a list of cvars and cmds and we could write some AM plugins
NS is not like DoD - there is a balance created by a closed resource system combined with dissimilar tech trees, and very cautiously tweaked maps which most monkeying with will break.
But that's for you all to see, and hopefully very, very soon.

I really hope it comes out soon, Although i doubt i'll ever host a server, Since i'm on cable hooked up to 4 cpus, Anyways, NO server should EVER use the gameplay changing Admin-Mod plugins, They will screw the game balance up, This especially includes the "roll the dice" plugins, As they can give you noclip and godmode and other stuff like that, Which would greatly ruin the game for everyone...
Anyways, Just don't use Admin-Mod much, K? (Except for like kicking/banning idiots, The usual stuff that most servers use Admin-Mod for)
OR:
NS could get its own Admin-Mod style commands and stuff, (More coding...) It would greatly help with things like:
Kicking/Banning Cheaters, Idiots, etc.
And would not require Admin-Mod to actually be installed on the host's computer, Would help alot with people setting up their server for the first time ever, With other mods, Might as well use Admin-Mod for it... But, I, And alot of others highly recommend servers do not use those plugins for Admin-Mod with NS... (I've been telling you why, Read the rest of this post before asking)

The point here is not what you can and cannot do with administration plugins such as adminmod or clanmod, but that they make the administration task much easier (and better controlled than just supplying rcon passwords to all and sundry).
*How* a server is run is really up to the people running it. Whether or not it's adminmod 'fun' plugins or rcon commands that are being used is irrelevant. If a server is badly run (e.g. breaking the gameplay and athmosphere of the game by doing dumb things like giving godmode/noclip or whatever) then it's following will quickly dwindle (or maybe not... there are some people who like that stuff!).
You're mostly talking (and worried) about the use of the tool... which is not the same as the tool itself. Bad admining = Bad admining regardless of the tools used.
The core of adminmod is best used as:
a) A useful server control to allow res-slot access for admins.
b) Controling the admin access to commands (e.g. who gets kick/ban/whatever)
c) Handy and easy to use interface to the basic admin commands such as kick/ban.
d) Plugin the functionality *you* as the server op want. This might well include gameplay destroying stuff, but then that's your perogative... just don't expect people to want to play on your server.
Hopefully, once we see what server CVARs and commands are available for NS, it'll become apparent which ones it is useful to be able to control (e.g. perhaps setting a maximum evolve level for Bobs) and which ones will just spoil the gameplay. Then we can see what commands would be useful to create in an NS adminmod plugin.
In other words... don't worry so much about it... People will set up servers the way *they* want... *You* get to choose if you want to play there or not.

First time i've ever had someone quote my WHOLE post!!!
Congratulations! you win absoloutely nothing!
void where prohibited, batteries not included, subject due to change, only available at a nowhere near you, no purchase neccesary, see details on inside of box[/size]
back on-topic)
well, i guess your right there, but i doubt most servers would live very long with the noclip/glowing/godmode/roll the dice things enabled on em... (still, someone out there somewhere has to like it right?)
(off-topic again)
i tried to get that void where prohibited and crap to be small, but it came out the exact same size, so i resized the rest of the post.

Glad i could help with at least that
