Go to the shortcut you use for NS, right-click it, and go to "properties" Under the "Shortcut" tab is a field called "Target," which should point to your hl.exe and have some other parameters listed after it. I'll give mine as an example: E:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -game ns -console -numericping -nojoy -noipx -nointro -32bpp Remove the "-32bpp" parameter and you'll stop telling the game engine to use 32-bit color. Note that your video card settings may tell your video card to be stubborn about it and still do 32-bit color, but this is the first thing you should try.
if your video card is being persistent on leaving it on 32 bits replace <i>-32bpp</i> with <i>-16bpp</i>
But it might look bad,haven't tried it as of yet....<!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
