Insomnia

Act II
So I punched the wall, couch, floor, all in frustration of not sleeping..
I have tried every single method that anyone has said, taking hot baths, working, etc, but to no avail it still has not worked...
The lack of sleep is influencing my family a lot, we live on a one floor home, so I can basically hear any footstep and whatnot...
I have tried sleeping pills from over the reccommended intake of 1 1000mg tryptophan pill to 3 and other herbs and pills, still not effect...

Exactly, what the #### am I doing wrong? Why do I deserve this?
I know this isn't nothing compared to leprosy or whatnot and I shouldn't complain, but I need some help...
I really want to conquer this and I have concluded that the cause of my insomnia is my mind

Good night have fun

you learn to live with it.

Been one of the "night people" now for a couple of years. Its 3:18 am in australia now. I probably wont sleep till 4am. Ill get up at 10am cause its a weekend. If its a work day i get to bed alittle earlier, but still get average of 4-6 hours a night.

    Evidently its not healthy.

    /me shrugs

you learn to live with it.

you might have low ceratonin levls that contribute to anxiety. Try Xanax clicky start at .25mg and work your way up to 2.0mg. 2.0mg will knock you on your arse no matter what kind of sleeping problems you think you have. Also make an appointment with your doctor cause you might have a disorder that could lead to brain damage if not caught early. (not meaning to add to your sleeplessness)

NS has had a tendency of making it hard for me to fall asleep. Lay off the NS. Alternatively, eat the entire glass of sleeping pills. I guarantee you'll sleep for a long time.

Earplugs, warm milk right before u hop into bed [well, im not sure about brushing teeth...], take panadol, and go to bed ridiculously early... like, 7pm, etc. And when you're sleeping, empty your mind, or if you can't [I know i can't] think about one thing... like, a block

Simply think about a spinning 3d block in your head and try not to focus on any point of it, or what it is etc...

    =/

Yea, thx for the support guys, now I know that there are others and maybe a lot, that know what its like with insomnia, whether chronic or mild. I figure that a lot of gamers have insomnia, maybe due to too much light radiation as I hear can cause the body to be awake; gamers also tend to be "anti-social," which I find sometimes true and untrue.

I have bought 2 seperate types of earplugs. The first type are the expanding foam type, where you roll it up and stick it in your ear. But the problem is that it keeps falling out due to my small ear canals. The second type are the plastic "screw" type and this type really hurts the ears after a period of time, maybe it's because I am sticking them in too much or that there too small.

For the drugs, I will have to contact my doctor about xanax and panadol, which I read is some sort of stomach pain reliever?

Also I had recent problems, but now I think are gone, with anxiety. I use to get anxiety attacks and om# they suck like hell.
    It's the worst psychological feeling.

Plus my body has a really high metabolism rate, which I think might contribute to my ability to stay awake quite easily.

Thx for the advice guys though...

P.S: "xanax can be fatal" "must be over 18"

-peace and have a good day...

Maybe its just your nutrition, try eating more healthier foods try to balance everything unhealthy you eat with a salad or fruit or something. The other reason as you pointed out was mind problems, well I dont really have any experience with this but you can try seeing a shrink or someone who cant help your problem. Maybe go to a support group if there is such a thing for insomniacs. Has something been bothering you that is in your head and you keep thinking about it? Maybe if you solve that problem whatever it may be you can probably solve your sleeping problems.

EDIT: I think thats it, your anxiety if I were you (I do this as me also) at one point I just stop caring for a while remember back when I was 5 or 6 without a care in the world. Unfortunetly in my case I usually stop caring for too long, as a result I'm late for work, fail a test, or lose a gf.

Meditate! Sign up for mp3.com, and find soothing music there. Download it, and play it, then sit on your bed. Just sit there, and stare at the wall. Find one spot at the wall with no obstructions and STARE. While you're doing this, let your mind wander. Don't focus on one thing, just let it wander. After about 15 minutes, close your eyes, and lay back. Don't listen to the music, but hear it. Just lay there, and let your mind wander. You'll drift off.

Next thing you know Tyler will blow up your house while your gone.

Seriously though, I don't know what to tell you, I guess you'll just have to patient and let insomina pass.

Chloroform is expensive, and I doubt his friend would be responsible enough to keep the rag on his face for just the right length. A guy died like that, ages ago, because he had insomnia. Just meditate. Eventually, it'll become so routine to you that you'll be able to lay down, clear your mind and drift off.

"I found the easiest way to go to sleep... is to try and stay up." - T1 Medic Wade, Saving Private Ryan.

    Funny, but somewhat true.
