My Take On 2.01c

Upon my usual routine of idling in #findnsscrim, the voice of an angel spoke to me and he said:

So, I did what any other NS-enthusiast would do - I went pee, then checked the changelog. I was a tid bit shocked at some of the changes:
- Aliens can only evolve within healing range of hive, to other alien forms
- Hive cost is now 50
- Umbra is now neutured.
Seemed kinda off-the-wall, but I'm open minded. So I checked it out at the Hamptons server, playing amongst some of the best NS players out there. To be perfectly honest, the game seemed really marine-friendly. It was easier for them to expand and the bloated hive cost allowed them to lockdown hives easily. And, without bile bomb, it was a task freeing up a hive. In addition, it seemed as if the aliens got very little res from towers.
Now this is NOT a rant. I am just posting things as I saw them. The hivevolution ( corny, yes ) makes it incredibly hard for aliens to expand, which is the point, but I think it's a bit too effective. If you keep this in, I suggest putting hive cost to 35 again, to balance it out a bit.
But I don't really think it's necessary to balance it that way. Here's my ideas for balancing:
Marine Changes:
+Make jetpacks more viable by removing their need for an upgraded Armory. In other words Armory>Arms Lab>Proto>JPs but HA requires the upgraded armory.
+Keep the HMG nerf on structures. Otherwise GLs are pointless. Or, make GLs do about 1.5x the damage they do now to structures.
+Up the HA armor to 300 at max upgrades.
+Make the arms lab 30 res
+Put Umbra to 3/4 again
Alien Changes:
+Scrap the hivevolution; it changes gameplay way, way too much and will nerf the aliens no matter what you do.
+Raise gorge cost to 15; therefore no insta-res towers.
+Raise lerk cost to 45; lerks are incredibly powerful vs LA Marines and can be achieved really quickly.
+Put hive cost at 35 again
+Change Onos attacks so that Devour is a two hive move and stomp a third hive move. Maybe scrap charge and add a "fling" type maneuvuer that knocks marines aside for minimal damage?

So why are we now seeing such drastic balancing measures?
least .. thats what I'd do .. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Seems a bit much, and it's almost a **** take on all the people saying aliens are totally unbalanced...
STOP LISTENING TO THE WHINEY LITTLE MARINE STACKING ****.
Flayra, you have a great game going. Don't listen to nubs who insist on having it to thier advantage... what are they going to do? Sue you? Stop playing the game? That's right, they can't do a god damn thing. You and your team are very talented. Don't listen to a bunch of whiney 15 year olds. It's your creation, it should be in your image.

Ha, that was probably the gayest insult I've ever seen in my long history of forum whoring.
Anyway, a tip of advice: game devs don't listen to people who tend to flame a lot in their "suggestion" posts. You sound totally illogical and not worth the time.
Hmm... I constantly hear people say Shotgun is better than HMG... why?? People say it's better than HMG at killing Onos- can you tell me each of their damage per second versus it? My point is that I didn't think HMG really needed a buff. Don't Welder and Grenade Launcher do good damage to buildings? Now we've got another gun doing this? If HMG really does need a buff (and I'm not sure), this wasn't the way to do it. (Maybe the Shotgun just needs a little nerf btw)

That's why he put it in there, to see what happens. He is only testing things out.

It would be a nice joke...
Except that 2.01c will be used in CAL today. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
