<div class="IPBDescription">Scratchy speaker sound and Stops</div> - CPU speed and make: Pentium 4 1.6ghz
- Sound and graphics card makers and memory: SoundMAX Digital Audio, Geforce 3 ti500 64mb Nvidia.
- Operating system: Windows XP
- Graphics mode and resolution: OpenGL 1152 X 864
I have two problems, 1. Every time i die the music stops, how can i stop this or is there a way i can restart the music in the console? 2. Whenever the music is on where there are a lot of sounds going on in ns the speakers become scratchy, turning the volume down doesn't work, neither does turning the music itself down work. I can run regular music on mp3 in teh back ground on NS and it wont be scratchy, but how do i make it so its not scratchy using the NS music?

    I have had a similar problem with ns (1.0 and 2.0) since my new motherboard with an nvidia soundstorm audio card in it, at certain points (i think when theres lots going on) the sound goes all scratchy (low quality), and never returns to its previous quality, EAX seems to stop this but everything echos with EAX rather than A3D.

    Have you updated your audio drivers to the latest?

    Simply, the integrated sound cards are not good and cause many problems, buy some normal sound card for few bucks (SB Live is good and cheap for instance), it is wort it.

    if the sound dies with you simply bind a key to nexttrack

    bind h nexttrack

    and oress when it dies <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I have the same Built in sound card, its good enough for me.

    Whenver there are lots of stuff going on, (shooting etc) the music starts skipping for me. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I dont have any other probs in other games, (even sound intesive ones like ut2k3 where your really never stop shooting people) annyoing.

    The sound stopping when you die happens to all of us. Monseur Evil said that they will probably realease a client side patch that will fix it.

    For now if you want to start up the music pull down the console and type in "nexttrack" (without the quotes)

    If you dont feel like pulling down the cosole everytime you die then..... type this in console.....

    bind h nexttrack

    So you just have to hit h for the next-track to play. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
