and, this IS a sniper rifle BUT just add a new clip, and thicker barrel then it would be cool (oh and get ridda that ugly yellow) <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
So is the rifle. It was never put into production, but it does exist... it's the Steyr AMR. The Steyr AMR fires a 200 mm (8 inch) long cartridge that is made out of polymers, except for the base, which is still metal. The caliber is 14.5 mm, but this is really the caliber of the sabot, as the real projectile is a solid tungsten fin-stabilized dart with a body diameter of 5.56 mm (.22 inch). The total cartridge weighs in at 150 gram, with the actual dart weighing about 36 grams . As soon as the sabot leaves the muzzle it will be stripped off, leaving the dart to continue its flight unimpeded. And since the muzzle velocity is over 1,400 meters per second (4,700 fps...), this means that the very aerodynamic dart will have a very flat trajectory indeed. As a matter of fact, the dart will only drop 80 cm after 1000 meters of flight. At that distance the dart still carries enough energy to totally penetrate a hardened plate of steel, 40 mm (1.62 inch) thick.
but don't expect much <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

i guess without fully automatic fire the accuracy should be more bearable.
edit for relevance: this doesn't seem like it'd be an applicable LMG in any case. but someone really should do that pistol up there.. does it have a name? the brand stamped on the side looks like Vektor.. but not quite. can someone help me out?
meh i just saw the pic and thought it look cool <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
What an ugly f*cking pistol! Looks lika piece of **** action lightgun for som old budget gaming console.
But thats just my opinion <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
ive used the vector once on the range.. i wasnt very amazed about it.. the ergonomics are uhm... ok..maybe better as some other pistols.. ít lays very easy and smooth in your hand.. maybe to much.. the gun feels like a toy compared to my glock... it really feels like a lightgun.. without the mag
Its the Steyr IWS2000. it fires a 15.2mm round (thats a BIG bullet... i dont even consider it a bullet) it started development in 1999 by "Steyr" (Austrian gun company). Its a bullpup design and is an anti-material rifle, like the barett m82. It, by no chance, could ever be a machine gun. if it were mounted to a brick wall, it would break off if it were to fire like a machine gun. i couldnt possibly see it being an "lmg" because the gun weighs 40 lbs without the mag, and the individual "dart" that it fires out of the HUGE casing travels 4757 feet per second. thast almost a mile per second!
if NS had a sniper rifle, i could definately see this in there... but the aliens would have to explode when getting shot by this ****!
btw, im eading this info out of a "Janes" gun recognition guide, so what im typing is accurate <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

/edit: hmm this would work as lmg aswell
rifle, on the other hand, looks like... i'll use the word <b>meh</b>
honestly, you wouldn't use something like that for mowing down aliens in tight corridors and engine rooms..
I would lub dat pistol in my l33tarsenalofd00m.
But, meh to the lmg... thing.

oh and for that lmg i was meaning to say maybe to shorten the length of it and take off the scope witha little work it would turn out fine
i don't know much about that gun... but it looks like a single-shot rifle. 0_o
