I dont normally like to make this type of post, but I think others should be told what happened on a server. I played tonight ( or this morning, it was August 7th, 12:30 AM EST ) on the Houston v2.0 server. It was a fairly long game, and I had played aliens the whole time. About 3/4 of the way through, the momentum had shifted and it was turning in favor of the Aliens. One of the marines was an Admin named Patriot. He pointed out that the teams had become lopsided ( it was 8v10 --hadnt been that way the whole game ) and he said for someone to switch or get kicked. I asked him politely not to kick me, since I had been aliens the whole game. He then kicked another member of the alien team ( which he said he did at random ), and this guy had also been alien since the begnning of the map. All well and good, since he was an Admin, though I kinda felt for the guy who got kicked.
Then the tide turns, and its 10v8 in favor of the marines. Some of us jokingly said he shoudl 'kick a marine'. He did not, but it quickly became moot as the sides evened out with new players.
THe next map started, and again, it was lopsided in favor of the aliens, it was 6v8. Patriot said that 'Since you Einsteins cant seem to do it yourselves' -- implying he was about to kick someone. I looked at the scoreboard, and saw it was now 6v7 . . . I brough this to his attention and he said "About to be 6v6 ****" and then kicked me. I rejoined, only to be kicked again. I rejoined once more, trying to appeal to him, I joined the marines to have voice conference with him and told him I was only pointing out that it was 6v7, which isnt possible to balance by one guy switching sides, so there was really no reason to kick anyone and I wasnt trying to be a jerk. He then asked if I was from 'Gayberry' ( I am southern, and have an accent to show it ) -- then banned me.
I dont know if Houston 2.0 has server boards to post an appeal on, a web search didnt turn up one. So Im posting here, not to lament my fate . . . but to warn others that this may not be a server you wish to play on, especially if people with hair-trigger tempers such as Patriot admin there. Its bad enough finding good servers, but its worse when you find a good one thats ruined by one guy with a god complex.

Anyways, after doing this about 4 times and killing about a dozen marines, this one guy starts making hackusations. Saying I was cheating because I wouldn't die. I told the guy I was using both umbra and being able to heal in the vent from the defense chambers. The admin was also on the marine team and didn't really comment much at first.
The aliens continued to dominate for most of the round. About five minutes after we got the 3rd hive up, the admin slays the entire alien team while leaving marines untouched. Every alien and half the marines start yelling at the admin telling him how incredibly lame that was. He basically then told us "I don't give a damn" and the round proceeded as the aliens all re-evolved and wasted the marines.
The next round starts, and before I can pick a team, I get the good ol' "You have been kicked and banned permanently by the server op."
I posted a message on their forums relating this story, but never checked to see what the replies were. A few days later, I tried connecting to the server out of curiosity and found that my ban had been lifted. I disconnected anyways since I still had a grudge because of that incident.
They are right though, so be forwarned

Anyways, I have never once run into BS admins in NS. But it's always good to have them held accountable in some form.
It's all good though.
