Cross Hair Problem

Hello, I'm new 2 the game n i was having trouble with my cross hair. It's a black square with a picture of the cross hair and i cant see through the black square. Anyone have any suggestions on how i can fix this?

are you in software mode? if not what mode are you running in and what size.. vid card.. etc.

I am in Software mode...and am using a trident video accelerator Blade 3D/Promedia....thats all i know

you can't use software mode with this game. that's the problem. use hardware mode and the black will become transparent. and btw i think trident graphics cards probably suck coz i saw one and it couldn't even do texture mapping properly without being all warpy and distorted.

NS does not support software mode, start up NS, go to config->video->video modes and try Opengl, and if that doesn't work for you, Direct3d.

D3D will make the box go away, but it won't show the crosshairs properly. openGL is the only mode that does it correctly.

And while I'm at it, can ANYONE tell me how to remove the really annoying bendy-model crap that shows up everytime I play on my ATI Radeon 8500LE in openGL?

Turn off TruForm (unless that thing doesn't support it, but truform is known to do that).

I don't have an ATI card but the video options should be in the same place, check in your display properties.

hey i have a ati radion 8500, ill try that view form thing because the bendeyness is annoying the hell out of me! (the button is, right click, properties, settings, advanced, open gl, and there is a lil slide bar thing)

Damn, I really wanna turn it off. D3D cuts my frames a bit.

Try running in OpenGL, or Direct3D.

If this doesn't work, I really suggest a new video card.

i dunno then, just have a poke aroun ur settings for open gl. because it worked for me <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>. (im lazy and havent updated for too long!)
