use it on fades
use it on onoses

but that does not help noobs breaking stalemates.

Whatever protection it gives is good in my opinion, and a blanket of umbra lots of aliens can take advantage of at once.
My Umbra tactic is to umbra spam a big evo (fade or onos) and shoot single umbras around for skulks. I keep the big evos covered as much as possible.
The fact that you can shoot it means I can fly around and dodge grens and rushing LMGers so you can sustain support for some time.
A few lerks doing this and you can break lockdown pretty effectively. You just need pack rushes which means teamwork (isn't that the solution to just about everything <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->).
I find you can't waste time with spores because you need every last drop of energy for umbra <i>because</i> it isn't as powerful as it used to be.

To clarify Umber lasts 6 seconds, which if timed right can mean when you have adrenaline you can make a constant coverage of spores or umbra.
