Res Point Slaughter

evry one starts with 25 res
it costs 15 res to put up a res point
10 res to go gorge
if evryone were to run out find a res pointand put it up
on a server of 18 thats 9v9 you gain the advantage of of 1v9 res pointes (give or take)
by the time youve found a res point evolved to gorge and biult the res point
youve got anouth res to evolve back or in some cases place a sensory chaimber and hide it
within the space of 2-5 mineuts you gain a leed in res points
3 players then can remain gorge
1 works on covering the map in sensorys and putting offence chaimers in surtin locations
the other 2 work on getting the hive up 1 saves thier res the other puts down defences

pros
theres nothing marines can do about it cos there stll biulding up there base
theres no kneed for a starting rush as you gain the res points to evole into fades and onos quicker

cons
a marine rush of the have is very easy

but sadly the com conrols are so bad that no one wants to be com any more

marines won't be sitting ducks in base during the process... expect at least 2 gorges killed

Most marine teams would go out and secure the odd res node on order of the comm. Add on to that the typical Rambo and your looking at potential slaughter, aliens should just expand at a sensible rate, maybe 5 RTs at the start and then 3 stay gorge and try take control of the map.

err Err, what game are you playing?

Comm controls are 100x better than 1.04, none of this not being able to put orders in the marine base and odd parts of the map. Hotkeys, squads basically everything you could want.

The res rush is a sound tactic though.

Being comm is the best part - its not the controls but just unfamiliarity on the part of new players, and the very real fear of everyone turning around and complaining when you lose.

I've been on servers where noone will comm, someone says "I'm a nub but I'll try" then when he makes a mistake he gets kicked for being a "****ing nub comm". That really annoys me to watch because he may be nub but I didn't see anyone else leaping into the chair. Of course once 2 rts and a tf are laid down, suddenly everyone wants to comm.....rant rant rant....

Anyhow. Back on topic, slow gorge expansion with rapid skulk harassment seems to be one of the better expansion plans. As long as you're denying the other RTs, you don't need to hold them <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I dont really like the idea of everyone going gorge and build a rt each, I alway skulk until I get at least 45 res so I can get a hive faster, I find it that skulks gains res faster then gorges cause they usually kill more then a normal gorge.
So you have a higher chance of getting a early second hive skulking in the begining

I agree that odd res nodes will be secured, but take the loss. Or don't take the retarted ones (like the 2 RTs right next to marine base in every map). Anyways, as for a res node rush, let them take the close ones, by the time they're secure ur fine. As for the odd rambo, **** happens, but your gorge spit is stronger so feel free to fight back, even if you die you make it easier for the next guy. Keep a skulk or 2 to keep them at bay.

I find that when I'm gorging, I can ususally take a lone marine, even near the end of the game. So if someone is ramboing, just make sure you've got healing spit up and lay it on them.

Oh, and just a note, the range of healing spit is absurd, so when they start to run away, just keep spamming and chase them down.
