Big Games Suck For Aliens.

<div class="IPBDescription">Winning the resource war...</div> In nearly every server I've been in that supports more then 20 players, aliens get creamed. I've attributed it to one fact: The resource system.
Simply put, the commander has a common pool, so in a big game, he has a massive influx of resources from just ONE resource node. If he can get 2 more then they have enough income to outfit their entire side with HA/HMG.
Meanwhile, the aliens have individual resource pools, so they:
1) Can't set up any sort of defense around their resource points.
2) Can't respond fast enough to threats on resource nodes.
All the commander needs to do is smack the space bar and he's there. He spends a few res and sets up a turret farm and makes everything immune to skulks.
However, the marines are given FREE weaponry that is effective. The aliens are forced to continually spend resources upgrading themselves, and simply put: Skulks are useless against upgraded marines. Marines vs. upgraded skulks are still on fair ground.
The resource influx the commander has in large games is tremendous. The alien resource influx is miniscule. If the marines have 5 nodes, then they can get fully upgraded in *1/4* the time it'd take for the aliens to get 3 hives up and everyone into Onos.

Even on a 16 man alien team, with 4 resource nodes, the resources are just BARELY trickling in. A 16 man marine team can give a set of heavy armor every 10 seconds.
However, commanders in that situation should really rely on upgrades first, since they benefit everyone. Heavies only when the game's already more or less won.
Having six Onoses rampaging around the other side of the map is no good if one vanilla marine can stroll in unmolested and knife your hive.
However the alien res is still split somehow as you can see from very small games 1v1 2v2.
Marines extra income comes from the fact that marines kill aliens more often and as a collectivewith 16 marines killing things it tends to come in faster. Not to mention in larger servers you can group up the marines easier to accomplish things since a group of marines becomes much stronger per marine added.
i think its from the fact that Marine team cannot survive the first waves of onos's completly and if they dont have teamplay and a good comm... they wont survive that too
10 vs 10 is all you need.

Well, the reason the marines are wallowing in resources is that the aliens are dieing in hordes, giving the marine res for every kill.
Clever aliens avoid dying. Never attack alone, never attack from the front, run away from large groups of marines until you have a larger groups of skulks around ... use lots of parasites ... DON'T FEED THE MARINE MACHINE.
aliens own both because the comm does no scanner sweeps or gets ejected for building 2 obs instread of giving guns.
