    Siege for aliens = bad. Marines rely on outposts much more than aliens. Imagine if it would be possible to build a siege in a vent near marine base or something. Aliens are fast so they can respond quickly to siege attacks and the comm must first build a tf + turrets +sieges protect them and then scan which is pretty time consuming and gives plenty of chances for a counterattack. But an alien siege could be build instantly in the cover of a sensory/OC and spell doom on the poor marines.

    ok lets run over a few of the basics.

    their are marines they look like this <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo-->
    and their is aliens they look like these <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

    lets not get the 2 confused, just cos 1 team has something doesn`t mean the other have to get it, these are 2 completly diffrent races.

    I disagree. As I see it, the point of the game is not to give each team the exact same functions just with a different theme. It's to have them have radically different strategies, but still be balanced against each other.

    A big part of the game is not just fighting: it's denying the other team the chance to move in. Is it hard to beat a TF and a seige? That's why you don't let it go up in the first place. The rines need something to take down the huge amount of structures that the aliens can build in hives. And if they succeed, this is their reward. This is especially the case the way 2.0 works: the aliens take an early lead in res towers, and the marines move through the map taking them back and securing them (in much more permanent ways with Tfs and electrification.

    I agree that the alien endgame is really slow, but the aliens already have so much firepower during the normal game that giving them something just to solve the TF at base problem would also make them unstoppable all over the map: marine outposts would never survive.

    The aliens DO have matching capability to take down structures: it's just that, as usual, its up close and personal. I don't see it nearly enough, but there are TWO major strats, both involving lerks and umbra (hopefully one equipped with adren as well). One is to umbra an onos as it gores structures (which does double damage against them). Another is to umbra a gorge or two who can bilebomb around corners or out of vents. Both of these are fairly hard for the marines to stop: not as hard as a couple of sieges that have gone up, but still hard, especially if other units are keeping the marines busy.
