What do you guys think of the new jetpack?
When I first tried it, I thought it was really crap.... but seriously..
in an earlier game we were all tired of HA rushing, and we got ourselves jetpacks. They
are actually quite effective, when you 're-learn' how to use them.

JPs should be cheaper on publics <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Just use it as a jump pack, do boost away from oni or attacks.
Make jumps, dont attempt to fly, boost from one point to the other, that works best in my view <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
It's as easy getting a jp in 2.0 from a comm as getting a shotgun in 1.04 was. BLEH!
Best mix i experienced so far is : 2HA/HMG/Welder 1HA/Shotgun/Welder and 1HA/Grenade launcher/Welder. If you can equip more that 4 guys its better but this squad config can resist nearly all alien attacks. Hmgs take care of ranged units, the shottie makes short work of any unit foolish enough to close the distance and the GL is great for buildings/onos.
lol.
I use them because of their speed - they can get to hotspots much faster than LA or HA marines.

Yeah I agree, 15 res is a bit much considering their new effectiveness, maybe 12? or something.....they're almostn ever used now, its all about HA rush.
This game has lost just about all the strategy to it, and waht "strategies" you might come up with have already been used a billion times.
