I just gotta ask
Look I don't actually know who these guys are. Bear in mind that in this internet wasteland known as Australia the US servers are mere rumours; legends if you will. I sure this clan is like incredibly well known or something but I really would like to know who they are. Are they good? (one of the top 10 US clans?)

And yes, the reason for this post is the Boondock marines music vid I loved the vid, but I'd get a lot more out of it if I knew who EGC was. I'd also like to know if they are any good because from the music vid they certainly talk the talk, but do they walk the walk?

I don't think they're even a real clan, I've only ever seen them in BoonDock, they're certainly not in the top 10.

EGC was the Second NS clan to be created, and has since died.

Since their breaking up, many of them still hang out in irc and play ns regularly on Nano.

They WERE a real clan, but as far as I know, not really a competitive clan. They're all cool guys to hang out with.

Uhm... they hardly scrimmed at all, like once or twice a month with EC, and then a couple of rare times with any other clan who played NS. But with the boondock marines, i think everything in there was just planned, because i know most of them can't do what they did in the video.

'It just so happens 1 marines goes into the vent in the wall, near the marines start on nothing, and then 4 aliens just so happen to go rush into it. To me everything looked a bit fake. *shrugs* That's my opinion though.

And andrew wins the 'master of the obvious' award for 2003.

Naturally, it's a staged video. Some of these players aren't even involved in NS anymore. But then, if Andrew wasn't so new to NS he would have known that.

lol, i did know it that's why i didn't like the video, they made themselves look all good, when they were just hardly decent.

ECG didn't make themselves look anything.

The three people who had the biggest hand in the video where frances_farmer, Hayaat and D'Artagnan. None of these people are in EGC. Indeed, EGC was decidedly dead about half-way through production. frances is responsible for all the "looking good".

At any rate, EGC were a little more than "hardly decent". They had some really rather skilled players among their ranks, and all of them were great team players.

EGC was a real clan, with great members and a potent presence on Nano-Gridlock (a major server out here in the boonies known as the USA. However, they were never really an especially competitive clan (though that has nothing to do with skill), primarily because they were just more relaxed. Bloody cool, and certainly to be missed in their now deceased state.

And, Andrew, bah to you too! *sniffles* We still love you D'Artagnan!

I was in EGC and helped act and make the video boondock marines. While EGC was a clan we were actually pretty good and no, we were never in any ladders, we did play some clanfission matches, of which we won. But it was mostly a brotherhood much like our sister-clan Evolutionarily Challenged (EC) still is. The large majority of egc members had been around before 1.0 was even released and still play a big part in the community today.

Any chance of them reforming? The more grown-up clans the better...

Sidenote: Clans making videos of themselves strictly to show how 'incredible' their g4m1ng sk1llz are, as opposed to simply for match puposes? You have small genitalia and are pathetically overcompensating. You heard it here first, stubby.
