bah...ppls still call shoulder fired weapons bazooka...... bazooka was just the nickname for the M1A1 & M9A1 used in ww2... they called it like that because it looked like the homebuild instrument used by the radio comedian bob burns. the bazooka was a shoulder fired anti tank rocket launcher designed by the army captain leslie skinner and navy lieutenant edward uhl in 1940.
the army had been attempting to develop an effective anti-tank rifle, but skinner and uhl's simple design proved to be just what the army was looking for. although originally named the M1 rocket launcher, the weapon's nickname, given to it by soldiers was quickly adopted as its official name.
the bazooka worked by firing a shaped charge rocket warhead out of a simple open-ended tube. electric ignition for the rocket was originally provided by a pair of small batteries, but this was later replaced by a trigger-operated magneto in the M9A1 model. The other major improvement in the M9A1 was a redesigned barrel that could be broken down into two sections for transport. Deployed to troops in 1942, the bazooka was most effectively employed by a two-man team, with one man serving as a gunner, and the other working to reload and rearm rockets. bazookas supplied to the russians were eventually captured by the german wehrmacht and served as the basis for german anti-tank rocket launchers such as the panzerschreck or the panzerfaust. the M9A1 bazooka was withdrawn from service after world war II and replaced by the more powerful M20.
today there are some really effective shoulder fired large caliber anti material rifles in use... you really cant call them bazookas... zookas are dead :-p
oh.. btw.. the german panzerschreck was first deployed in 1943. like the bazooka, the panzerschreck operated by firing a small rocket through an open-ended tube using an electrical ignition system. although this weapon was officially designated as a raketen-panzerbüchse (RPzB), which translates as "rocket tank rifle," it was more widely known by the name panzerschreck, which meant "tank terror." Later versions of the panzerschreck were outfitted with a blast shield designed to protect the operator from the rocket's burning propellent.
Here it is so far. It comes with 2 different fan styles, and a placeholder red dot sight since I haven't finished the scope yet. In this, backfaces are not yet deleted in case changes still need to be made.
oh yeah.. the RPG .. how could i dare to forget the rpg...
the RPG-7 is the lineal descendant of the ww II german panzerfaust.the RPG-7 was adopted by the soviet armed forces in 1961. Today, it is part of the TO&E of over 40 (maybe more) different countries' armies and several of these countries, besides russia, are licensed to build their own. other manufacturers include bulgaria, china, iran, iraq, romania and pakistan. the rpg is a recoilless, shoulder-fired, muzzle-loaded, reloadable, antitank grenade launcher. it fires an 85-mm (PG-7) or 70-mm (PG-7M) rocket-assisted HEAT grenade from a 40-mm launcher tube. the launcher has two hand grips, a large optical sight, a thick, wooden heat guard around the middle, and a large, flared blast shield at the rear of the tube. The RPG-7V is light enough to be carried and fired by one person. however, an assistant grenadier normally deploys to the left of the gunner to protect him with small arms fire. the grenadier normally carries two rounds of ammunition, and the assistant grenadier carries three rounds. the internal rocket motor of the PG-7/7M grenade ignites after traveling approximately 11 meters; this gives the projectile higher velocity (sustained out to 500 meters), flatter trajectory, and better accuracy. further enhancing accuracy are four large, knife-like fins at the rear of the projectile which unfold when the round leaves the tube, and smaller, offset fins at the very rear which produce a slow rotation. the maximum effective range is 500 meters for stationary targets and 300 meters for moving targets. maximum range is 920 meters, at which point the projectile self-destructs approximately 4.5 seconds after launching. The PG-7/-7M grenade, with a shaped-charge warhead, has armor penetration of 330 millimeters. the current RPG-7V model can mount a telescope and both infrared and passive night sights. all RPG-7 models have optical sights which can be illuminated for night sighting. theres also a opend sight for emergency use...
The barrel diameter + the limitations on the grip (don't want it so thick you can't get your hand around it) kinda dictates the thickness of the overall weapon. I guess I could make the portion above the grip and front area thicker I suppose, but in game it's not gonna make too much difference
yea i guess so

Can i make a suggestion on the Killstick? instead of modeling out the fans, make a 2 poly spinning square and use a masked texture to remove the excess, it should look good in game and cost less polies (mind if i tweak your version?)
Nice job Burncycle but sorry for asking but what's this? (or could it be an error on my milkshape?)

I'm so glad so many people like this idea.
Its a good thing I post before I think, or this would have never gotten posted with how many idiots out there that think anime is **** just because of american versions of Pokemon and DBZ...((yes kiddies, thats right, POKEMON in Japan is MUCH heavier of a anime. Pokemon have blood, Misty and Ash have a relationship, and Brock uses even worse peverted language. And there is a nude scene with Misty, that a lot of guys are gonna go and by the whole series for now that I've told them. Good thing I've kept my mind pure for as long as I have...))

True, evangelion is one of the best anime i ve ever seen. I, will be what u would call a "Guy whos too obsessed with anime", have seen like evangelion countless of times, all episodes including the movie (i ve got the DVD collection for it ^^ ) and i have never gotten bored of it yet. and just a little off topic a little, just some anime news i ve heard, that they r gonna be reshowing Evangelion on SBS soon (didnt say when, just soon) including the movies!!!. (or was it just the movies? or including the episde? forgot) but u can be sure for both evangelion movies to be aired. This is on Australian SBS tho....
Basically I set up 2 types of fan blades. One (the one thats currently in the housing) is a solid peice that can use transparencies to simulate the blades. The other (outside) is the one where each blade is modelled. I still haven't done the scope, but feel free to do whatever it is you want to it everyone
I used the picture you gave, rotated it so that it's straight, and modelled from that although I had to guess what was behind the girl....
If you mean short up and down (rather than lengthwise) it'll look better with a proper scope
Actually, that's Piroko. Pirogoeth is Piro's Megawinter Nights avatar, Piroko is his Quake 3 avatar. Both female, but one's medieval-looking and the other tech-looking.
What about the Sony Killstick? That's different from the Chibi if I'm correct. It would be more lmg size if I'm correct. If only I could find a pick of it...
