I am so sick of getting flamed/kicked off servers for building sens chambers because the "vets" say def first and they can not play the game like a ninja..
So can I have my nice cloak for v2.0? Without getting kicked?
well as i know and what i been reading, sensory is a much more viable first chamber option now as it was in 1.04 but movement was stillt he big first chamber from wat i read from reports, but we can`t even see the beta disccusion anymore
I imagine that, given time, picking the chamber will be done as an attempt to counter whatever type of strategy the aliens think the marines are using...
Hopefully 2 hives will be available soon so there won't be any "selfish gorge"-syndrome like:
"I want sensory first and I don't care what everone else thinks! I'm putting it up now cause I like it and if anyone disagrees, they can stick their moans in their ***"
2 chambers = less moaning cause everyone can be happy
I hope they're all viable first though even if it means only 5 minutes...
There's a rather long dispute amongst the testers which chamber is best. General consensus is that the Sensories offered abilities are (especially due to the *cough* unpolished *cough* Pheromones) a little inferior, which some however argue is balanced out by the tremendously useful passive cloaking. In the end, I feel we'll see a lot of all three chambers, with a slight dominance of M and D in clanplay, and a lot of S in casual gaming.

getting sens then killing the comm chair and cloaked para killing from the cieling, thats a great laugh

i think even in 2.0 sens isn't gonna be too popular. cloack is nice and i recall a lerk fooling me for some time with it on siege005 'till i saw him uncloack for a sec and blasted a few 'nades up his wazoo.
cloack can be good in skilled hands but marines will get smarter and find ways to counter cloack, resulting in the sensory handicapping you, in which case you will need a chamber that has more unsubtle upgrades like adrenaline, celerity or carapace. but sens will prollie be a second hive choice instead of being build because of abundant res and boredom.
of course, there are those sensory fanatics who will say stuff like: you don't build sensory because you are: A).a noob B).don't want to try new strategys C).a pathetic little child that has no skill and uses carapace to compensate for his lack of skill
and the usual A-hole who believes that his way is the best and has no regard for the teams needs.he'll build his chamber and he will prollie blame his team for losing after which he disconnects and starts his own server with exclusively bots who are programmed to continually praise him and tell him his skills are uber.
i don't have something against having other chambers to begin with, but in the end, you should pick the one best for the team, not for a individual
I have a hard time imagining how marines can "counter" sensory, or any of the alien first chamber choices... It seems that it's the other way around, the alien's choice of first chamber is a marine counter.
Marines passing through certain areas? Blanket them with sensory. You also gain scent of fear to track their movements.
Marines running all over the map like headless chicken? Movement chambers will let you gorges flee when under attack, let you protect the hive from rogues, and move about silently (or just real quick) to intercept. Scent of fear and blanketing sounds very possible too.
Marines setting out zones of fire that are eating your lil' dudes alive, or got a few fades coming? Drop a d chamber or two, regen or carapace will help things out.
These are all hypothetical, and I imagine people will come up with far craftier techniques, however, just looking at those three, I don't see how sensory requires more skill, or is more easily countered... I can counter d chambers as easily with weapon upgrades as I can counter sensory by scanning or movements with motion tracking.

I thought cloak turned off when touched? Sounds like a bug....
yes 2.0 is VERY nub friendly so if you want to go gorge you could very well drop a SC and win cause of it. Just remember it is very different than 1.0x and make sure to tell everyone you are new....

Yeah....whenever a gorge lays down a chamber that I don't like, I lerk and drop his butt into a hole...so it shouldn't be a problem for me.
I really wish there were a way to kill the chambers and re-assign a hive's chamber type though... with so many gorges the chances of one dropping a first chamber that isn't wanted by the team is high. Sure none of them are gimped, but it sucks when the alien team has a plan and a newbie ruins it like that. I remember once in 1.04 we had 2 hives, lost the Defense hive, and as soon as we got it back up again some tard who had been double gorging the entire game threw up a sensory and we were never able to drop Ds again. Ugh.

On a side note, blocking a doorway as a cloaked onos and then charging them = fun.

Early on, I think we'll see a LOT of sensory. ;-)

Ninja Skulks everywhere, marines try to take a hive think its empty and suddenly we plop down from ceiling and bushwhack em.
Excellent use of the term "Bushwhack".
sure sometimes S then M loses, but its a lot more fun to go ninja fade, than it is winning with cara skulks before the second hive.

To all people who think this is a great feat I must mention that in my opinion(neither proved nor proven wrong thus far) you will still hear the hive regardless of whether its cloaked or not so cloaking hives is truly pointless(I just dont know why everyone seems to think its a great thing )
