Onos Redemption

Please dont hit me if this Bug is already known or fixed in 2.0
Today i was playing gorge on Bast and had Redemption Upgrade.
As the 3rd hive was up i decided to evolve into an Onos <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->
Then at the Rotating Door near the Rine Base i was paralysing for fun and took Damage.
Surprisingly i was beamed back to the Hive.

    If you have redemption upgrade it transports you back to the hive no matter what alien form you take.     That is how the redemption upgrade is supposed to work.

    But Redemption is only for the Liveforms Skulk, Gorge, Lerk and Fade NOT for Onos.

    In the help text that comes up when you put the mouse over redemption it says "This ability does not work for the Level 5 Behomoth alien". They just forgot to change that methinks.

    It's been officially stated several times that the error is in the tooltip.

    Onos originally had problems getting stuck when redeeming but they managed to fix it so they allowed onos to redeem. Tooltip was never changed.

    50hp regen is great, but trying to kill a redemption Onos is nothing short of infuriating. It's almost impossible.

    Is there a limit to how many times you can be redeemed or is it random? Sometimes I get redeemed twice before getting killed 'properly' the third time. Sometimes I can keep on getting killed and killed and killed...

    That's why I love it ;P

    And whoever said "only n00b onos get redemption" is completely wrong. What if you lose the 3rd hive? What if your intention is to just divebomb the base? What if that base has a turret farm? Do 'Rines have lv3 weapons? You'd probably need redemption in all these cases.

    In fact i almost always get redemption when i go fade or onos unless i'm sure that i'd have the resources to do so again by the time I die.

    I think you're supposed to be redeemed every time, but sometimes it doesn't work properly and you die. If I remember right from the changelog, this no longer happens. Whether you get redeemed quicker, or it just doesn't bother to redeem you once you die, I don't know.

    Redemption is a random thing. It's not intended to be a 100% chance that everyime your hp gets low you redeem. Sometimes is will save you, sometimes you just die.

    This is why i'm glad 2.0 is coming soon, no one knows what the other upgrades are becuase they're all adrenaline/carapace combo junkies...get some diversity man!

    As far as i know, if you are damaged to certain % of health, theres a chance every second (or game "tick" or whatever) that you will get redeemed, if your helath drops to 0 you will not get redeemed and you will die. It depends on how fast you will redeem, its *something like* this: After your health drops to 10%, you have a 10% chance of redeeming every 0,1 second (these numbers are very probably wrong, its just for instance), so you can redeem almost instantly or it can also take 1 second, in this time someone can still kill you and if he does, you will deinitely die.

    Meh, fade redemption is a waste if you ask me, unless you lost the second hive. I use cara/adren and I VERY rarely die as fade. Proper usage of Blink is the key.

    it is very hard to kill a redempt onos but it is soooo annoying to get pulled back to the hive with 140 hp and 1 guy left in base, its very hard to kill a regen onos in 1.04 too but i think they tamed it down in 2.0

    On my crap computer, redeption *never* works. So far it has worked ONE TIME. every other time i die at the hive or wherever. Complete waste of res for me. I hope that redeption gets fixed or removed, especially since i am a particularly unlucky person, and anything having to do with chance will almost always go against me. /rant

    I almost always get redemption as a Fade. They can dish it out, but they can't take it, imo.

    Thanks for the completely random post which has nothing to do at all with the thread except for the fact that both fade and onos are aliens . . .

    Install newest direct x/video drivers and reinstall HL/NS, I had simlar problems before that stopped me from blinking, paralyzing and Charging with onos for a while until I did all that

    Obviously redemption got put in the game for a reason, for each it's own to decide what it's best use is for, and what it's not best used for.
