<div class="IPBDescription">Need help</div> Ok so last night i spent 30 minutes pitching NS to my geek friends and finally conviced them to give NS a try. AFter an hour of installing on 8 pcs we tried to start a game. Everytime we would try we would get Netsend errors in the game and people would drop. Now Starcraft ran fine on the network so i'm pretty shure that was ok.
Do i need to install the files for a deticated server. Also if i have to install the server files is there a guide that tells you how to do it? I can't seem to find installation instructions. I have it downloaded but the zip is just a bunch of files and folders. Anyone know any good resources that could walk me through this. Thanks for you hellp guys.

for that all you need to do is install 1.0 and then patch t o1.04 (ONLY the server computer needs this, but you can patch em all if you feel like it)
What are the specs for said LAN?
you might also need to tweak around HL itself (try a test run of HLDM to see what happens)
Then open a new window, and navigate into your NS directory. You'll see that the files basically match in both windows. Copy the 1.04 files into your NS directory, overwriting the old NS files. Bam, you are done.
Really? You have systems with IPX installed, but not TCP/IP? That's totally whacked!
I mean, back in the day when I was a NetWare 3.12 admin, I could see it.... but today? Even NetWare started supporting TCP/IP eventually.
