<div class="IPBDescription">can be a problem in 2.0</div> I have one really big problem!... since the VAC thing started to pop up on servers i can no more get in to the servers and play.

If I have Cheating-Death on, the console says that the server is VAC secured and that i should read the CD manual...

If I dont have CD on and try to get in to a server i just get thrown back in to the server lists.

Now this is when i play DOD but if Im not wrong, VAC while start to pop up in the 2.0 severs...

so how do i fix it? <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    well:

    1) Read the CD manual
    2) Try the CD/DoD forums

    you have given us no information really mate.

    Do you have anything altered in DoD? Can you play other VAC supported games?

    give us info, there are thousands of things that could cause errors similer to this

    There is a very basic reason for this. CD works by "hooking" into the Half-Life client. By doing this it can detect whether cheats are running, and can prevent other cheats from working by feeding them false information. The upshot of this approach is that CD acts just like a cheat would. In essence, CD will be detected as a client hook by VAC, and as such VAC will likely think a player running CD is running a cheat. Thus, allowing players to connect to a VAC server with CD running would often result in them getting banned.

    To prevent this, CD detects whether the server you are attempting to connect to is running VAC. If it is, it shuts down the connection in order to prevent you from being banned. To connect to a VAC server you must make certain you are not running CD when you attempt to connect. The simplest way to deal with all of this is really to have a third-party server browser which can detect the type of server you are trying to join and react accordingly.

    Cheers
