Wip Sewers

<div class="IPBDescription">Full of cylindery goodness</div> Here's my latest WorldCraft doodle. I think it's a little too large to be a water treatment facility on a spacecraft... more likely, it's part of a planetary outpost. r_speeds are 485, which I think is pretty good considering the number of sides in those circles. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Lighting, Lighting, Lighting.
    See those circles... put lights around them, with big glowly flares and they would look so good. Put lights above the doors and on the sides of the walk ways, put lights anywhere (consistency is the key!) and make it look sexy! I would go for a yellow or red given your watery back setting.

    Hmm...why not fire lamps or something? I think having little flames lighting up the sewers would provide a great atmosphere.

    I'm trying to put in some lights shining through grates casting bar shadows onto the walls. It's an easy technique in theory, but since this room is so big, I need to use -bounce 0 to get the desired effect, which might make the lighting in the rest of the level look bad... hmmm... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It's a sewer morons! Have you ever seen a sewer that has lights?! I know I havn't. I like it. Tho I agree it need's SOME sort of lightING (not lights) Maybe manhole covers that are grated.

    Very nice. And I agree, put some cool lights there and it will look great. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Does this look better? I may scrap this approach and use hanging light fixtures after all, since I might want bouncing in the rest of my map. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> Then again, since this is a single room anyway and I really don't have any ideas for a full map...

    I love the idea (It would also fit into my map perfectly - but I have an idea which has been inspired by yours and the ventilation hive of hera...anyways enuff) and why not put make a few ventilation fans around on the walls...make the walls alot less square and flat. Some good inspiration for less flat walls which have simplicity and lower r_speeds than most maps can be seen on Hera - mainly at datacore main entrance.
    How about some pipes too? maybe even leading into the big fan or machine hooked up on the wall? One other thing I suggest is two different levels of ceiling height...make it higher above the walkway and lower each side of the walkways...will add more atmosphere aslong as the height difference is noticable, but dont take it too over the top.

    Theres some suggestions, now...love that idea honestly <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Curves are so sleek - so nice they remind me of why i love to do this on a daily basis....

    [EDIT] Maybe even break the textures up and have 2 or 3 textures on the walls, make them so one texture can particularily make people grab out and see the entrances/exits to the walkway. One way of doing this is simply adding a border with a Vent2 or Trim texture [/EDIT]

    [EDIT2] The one with the bars was Nothing <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> [/EDIT2]

    I thought you would put small or tiny lights <i>on</i> those circles... That would look cool in my opinion... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Sewer would have lights for maintenance crews to perform maintenance work. And besides, this isn't fully really... it's Kinda false just for the sexy lookin scenery.
