<div class="IPBDescription">Computer games that is...</div>Have you ever waited months for a game's release, rushed out to buy it then rushed home only to find it sux?

I'll start the ball rolling...

Dark Reign II, a very poor attempt at 3D RTS, no anti-aliasing and poor controls.

Carmageddon II, didn't work with my Voodoo card and featured lego style pedestrians.

    Killer Instinct 2... I used to make 79 hit combos in 1 but barely reached 12 in 2 <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

Project IGI - incredible graphics and mission oriented gameplay marred by endless respawn enemies who would stand around smoking as you sniped their buddy 2 feet away from them.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Diakatana yet.  I have never even felt the urge to try it, so I don't know how 'disappointing' it was.  Maybe by the time it was finally released, nobody really looked forward to playing it anymore.

Ion Storm.  /me shakes his head.

Oh wait now SIN that was a disapointing game, i had high hopes cuz of the demo, arf that's the only good map in the whole game, it's typical Tom Hall style it's kinda cool and all but in the long run it just gets boring.

Daikatana and/or Messiah. John Romero, Ion Storm, what the hell were you thinking with Daikatana? Messiah was fun, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't long enough for me. <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

I actually liked Carmageddon II, but anyways.  I think the most dissapointing game I've ever gotten would be Star Wars: Racer.  Lucas Arts took the amazing pod race from Episode I and turned it into a piece of trash.  Graphics were below average, control was awful, and the whole premise just stank.  Not to mention I had to shill out an extra hundred to upgrade my system, just so I could play it.

RTCW was one of the best games ever in my opinion, Both in SP and MP. What did you find wrong with it?

I didn't really like it that much (SP). MP was great though! The SP sorta...I dunno didn't measure up to the fun of the original to me. And there was nothing really 'new' in it to make it anything great.

Messiah and Trespasser are way up there on the list for me.  I remember eagerly getting Trespasser the minute it hit the shelves, after being hyped up for it for months.  After an hour or two I was completely disgusted.  I returned it within 24 hours.

Messiah looked unfreakingbelievable at the Game Developer's Conference for a few years in a row.  Huge rooms full of gawk-eyed developers, it was stunning.  Then it came out and it looked nothing like it did then (not to mention some of the production values were questionable).  I'm still not sure what happened.

I can't possibly say how much I despise this game.  It disappointed on every conceivable level.  Just thinking about it makes me want to tear out my eyes.  I hate it with a passion equal to nothing I can think of. I <b>hate</b> it.

I agree about Messiah though, I bought it on a Monday and returned on the Wednesday … hehe … an ok game and my money back <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

And Project IGI, the respawning did shaft that game but gladly they’ve sorted that out for the sequel, or so they say and I’d back that up but ohhh no my group of beta testers don’t get to play the SP … grumble grumble.

Heh ... sorry, I couldn't bring myself to type the name. Max Payne.

<b>Me sends out subliminal message: I hate it BTW.</b>

My sister likes that game, don't like it cuz it's no fps, it would've been coll if there was an option to play it like an fps, but then you're able to view soem sort of replay and they can put those flasshy special effects in the replay.

I would have to say  DOD ver. 2.0, now before you start screeming at me and calling me foul names the reason I think its disapointing is because I have such a low fps. At times I ran above 40+,which is good, but then it got to where I could litturaly count them. Sometimes it got where another frame wouldnt come for 10 seconds. It being a awsome mod makes it even more dissapointing because I cant play it :(. I wish they would have a low textures option. Maybe when I get more RAM this weekend Ill be able to play it

I feel I must defend Max Payne.  I think it's the best thing on the PC since Half-Life.  To have been so disapointed Manah you must have been well hyped.

I was seriously hyped about Max Payne.  I'm a John Woo/HKBO nut, Max Payne was exactly the kind of game I'd been waiting for. I hoped.

But it wasn’t ... I could rant about it for days.

The so-called story (which was one continuous cliché) wasn’t involving, didn’t make me care about the character in any way. It made me want to kill him so he’d shut up with the horrible mixed metaphors and ###### one liners.

The ‘amazing’ graphics are decidedly underwhelming. And bullet time ... don’t even get me started.

Grrm ... check out the <a href="http://www.planethalflife.com/manah/images/articles/articles.htm" target="_blank">'Gimmick or Revolution?'</a>article at my site for more of my ranting over Mr Payne.

Max Payne was one big dissapointment, i though the modelling was WORSE. But its not the baddest game i ever played. The most worse game i played was Black&White. I was hyped for months, got it and stopped playing in the third mission.
The game was really nice, the villagers were cool and your conscience was tha bomb. But the damn game was just not really fun.

I think that Max Payne was a cool game! Eye candy galore with bullet time, an intreguing storyline and a lot of weapons.

I'll have to agree with you on B&W, I can't put my finger on what I didn't like exactly but I just got sick of it after about a month.

I was a little disappointed with the original Unreal, but then I was spoiled beforehand on UT.  I still find the single-player Unreal to be pretty immersive, though, but the technology and level and model design seems a lot inferior to UT.

Well, OK, Max Payne's storyline is thinner than a three legged hedgehoge on a highway, but I still liked the game.

My personal MDG is definetely C&C3. I was all hyped about it, couldn't wait to see it in action, and then, and this was the mistake, did so <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

Bad graphics, bad gamebalancing, the definetely worst storyline ever (if you're going to call this assemblance of dramaturgic loopholes 'story' ), and all this combined with a price 20% higher than was usual at the time.

i think the B&W first mission ruled! i really felt with my villagers, and was really happy when my creature helped them. Only then came The Third Mission *brrrr*. You lose your creature. WTF the whole fun thing about B&W was teaching your creature things, and the villager stories, but in 3 there are almost no villager stories <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

I feel the flame rising under my feat. But anyways I don't have many computer games that I hate and/or don't like.
