I think if they were going to make a HL movie they would have to be very careful , cause if its total poo then it could hit them were it hurts when they come to relase HL3 :/
Good Game - Film RE, is cool Dungeons and Dragons, its ok but the wee dwarf annoyed me
Bad Game - Films Tomb Raider MK (all of them including the animated ones) Mario Rollerball (which was a direct rip off of speedball 2 for the 16bit mega drive and my fav game for about 2 years) and all the rest iv missed
Has to do with bunnyhopping, not killing the enemies I need to kill, using the AR grenades without hesitation, some other things I learned from Sven Co-op. Mario was a pretty cool movie, it didn't follow any of the games, and I don't like how king koopa was a bitchy little man, but it was a fun movie to watch.

Mario was a kickass movie, what happened to the sequel though? When the Princess busts through the door with a gun and says the other world is in trouble or something?
If they do make a HL movie, I can almost guarentee the only preserved parts will be the intro and possibly the ending.

If they made a Half-Life movie I would rather they keep the setting, Black Mesa, as it is but come up with new characters and events like Gearbox did with Opposing Force and Blue Shift. You could make references to the games, like when you see Gordon go to Xen in Opposing Force or watch him get dragged down the hall Blue Shift, but I don't want to see a remake of the single player games. I want to know more about what happened at Black Mesa. Maybe a story about the resistance fighting against the aliens and military. See the Incident from another point of view.
Edit: In summery, let Valve work with Gordons story. Everyone else, LEAVE GORDON ALONE! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
no great game ever deserves a movie made out of it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
God, everyone now thinks game movies are automatically bad. I beleive it's the games they choose to make movies out of. They choose games like Street Fighter and Mario with little or no backstory and try to make a 2 hour movie out of it! Games like Halo and Final Fantasy deserve better than that. On the Halo forums I'm on the speculation on the story could write several books (and indeed we did). The base was so rich with content you'd be hard-pressed to get that kind of info into a 2 hour movie. IMHO, Halo was better than watching probably every movie I ever saw.

i think a hl movie would be awesome, i swear to god i seen some kind of duke nukem movie before, i dunno where but it was on cable. check out this picture for the future actors of the hl movie! hey i think this could work. well the gordon freeman at least
Anyway, if they made a half life movie then Gordon might speak which would ruin it all, you have your own idea of what Gordon sounds like, listening to HL movie Gordon will ruin it, same with a Halo movie, he might take his helmet and you get to see what's underneath his helmet, again you all have your own ideas of what he looks like and it'll ruin it for you, good games never get along with movies
I cant belive what I'm hearing! Me, being a loyal fan of HL, supports everything of which the Sierra company does and (or) will do in the future! If they want to make a movie, which could turn out horrible....or excellent, then by golly, LET EM'! SIERRA IS THE SHIZNIT, AND ALL WHO DISAGREES SHOULD GET CROWBARd!!!@ I stand behind everything which sierra does, booyah. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Actually, Sierra has been faltering (to me) as of late. Remember the good days back in the adventure gaming era? Sierra was on top. Now... they have to license out their games to other companies to make due. Whatever happened to Roberta Williams' vision?
I think games make bad movies, mainly because we're not playing those games. I think in many times, by playing the game, we never notice the lack of a detailed plot that blockbuster movies require.

Better be based on HL2, because the original had no characters except Gordon and the G-man (all those Barneys and scientists were diff. peeps). What I really want is a Halo movie, it's just perfect for one. All they have to do is make it just like the game and not **** it up like other game movies by adding the techno soundtrack and meaningless and unrealistic violence *cough*Unreal*cough*... Story for Halo's one of the greatest like all Bungie games, and the main character could literally be played by a stuntman with voiceovers by the original actor because you never see his face. Unfortunately, since just about every game movie sucks **** through a straw, Bungie has denied the movie rights to ANYONE. Only one good game movie, Final Fantasy, and that wasn't even based on any of the games (shoulda been on FF7!)... <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> No way, it should have been on FFIV. I think for HL to be a movie, there would have to be a few requirements met 1st of all, it will not, -WILL NOT- star Gordon Freeman. Valve has already stated how much they don't want Gordon to have a voice, or for him to be in cutscences.. and anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last 40 some odd years understands that most movies require 2 things from main characters, A) that you see them and B) that they speak. 2nd of all is obvious, it takes place in BMRF or City 17, of course, BMRF is the more likely candidate as there is so much that can happen in a research facility built in old missle silos that is under attack by aliens and whos staff is currently being killed off by the government. That in fact has already been proven in HL and its 2 expanion packs.. HL and Opposing forces more so than Blue Shift... Blue shift is short enough that if it had a demo, well.. The demo would be an entire 1 room.

what ? only takes 2 hours to finish BS, HL takes pretty long to finish, no way any one could finish it properly in 3 hours playing it properly, means wiping out all the aliens properly aswell, most movies get cut if they are too long. HL would get cut as the game takes 5+ hours to finish.
