Reuters and various movie-type sites are reporting that Sierra has put the film rights to the movie adaptation of Half-Life on the market. I wouldn't get your hopes up, though, production companies have snapped up film rights for all sorts of videogame films that never actually make it into production (examples include Doom, Duke Nukem, and Crazy Taxi).
And even if it does get made, there's no way it can be worse than the first attempt at a Half-Life movie.

Thought it was interesting. Enjoy

I'm sure a lot of people said that about Mortal Kombat and Mario. 'Course, the movies sucked.

well, Kombat sucked cause of its horrid script and bad acting...
where as mario sucked cause it had absolutely nothing to do with the game universe...
RE sucked cause, although it had EVERYTHING to do with the universe, and explained alot, it had poor acting, and a damn "any and every character the audience may like dies, some times pointless and needless deaths" script... which had major loop holes [first of which, I personally believe was how the RQ shut down key survived being in the las.tunnel while the agents didn't]
Crazy Taxi will blow because its a game about excentric taxi drivers... how the **** does any one think they can make a(n even sellable) movie from that?
Half-life has possibilities... but, I fear it will follow the tradition...
I dont think you can, lol

NOOO! MARIO WAS A GOOD MOVIE! Y'wanna know why? Because it had an old grandma going "I need koopa coins" and people yelling "Bob-omb!" over and over. And c'mon, dancing goombas! Who doesn't like dancing goombas?!?
Well I liked it anyway.
I'd have to say Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. I really loved this movie, the animation was spectacular and i really liked the storyline.
Ontop of that, i thought Resident Evil was quite good.
Another film based on a game, the Dungeons & Dragons movie, that was actually rather good.
But we won't mention things like Mario or Tomb Raider.... Urgh.

Final Fantasy was decent, but D&D needs to die a horrible death. Not one saving roll thrown in the entire friggin movie. WTHG?!?!?!
Actually, i thought it bit for other reasons... more... rational reasons... unless that was supposed to be a joke...
it had annoying characters, and started the idiotic myth that dwarven females have beards... (the 3rd rule book has a pic of the ave for all the premade races genders... and the female dwarves arn't that bad looking, not my deffinition of beauty (see: Felicia) but not horrid)
another thing... the beholders both a) had to have been magically compelled somehow... they're EEEEEVIL and very smart, and all those eyes are a nice little cournocopia of ways to die... and b) they were underused....
Although it did show why no group should be without a cleric...

It's called TAXI DRIVER, with Robert DeNiro. Watch it sometime <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
"You talkin' to me!?"
Ever played Icewind Dale? Play it sometime.

I'll note that...
oh well...
Doom wouldn't make such a bad movie, if it was done right. It wouldn't have made such a bad book, either, if it had been done right.

Yes, that was a joke. I also thought it blew for all those reasons. I absolutely agree with every comment you made there. Even the Felicia remark.
TAKE THAT BACK RIGHT NOW!
mario bros was like, the best movie ever! i taped it a long time ago when i was young and watched it at least 3 times a day! i still own that tape and plug it in a few times! sides, how could they have based it on the true mario? how would they explain mario jumping so high? it woulda looked ****! with all the strings and stuff.... kinda like matrix reloaded! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
btw, anyone know if you can find it on dvd? i really want it badly!
Resident Evil, while a decent movie by itself, just ...i dunno if **** (peed?) is filtered here, but it annoyed the heck out of me. Lasers that cut people in two? A 50 story underground complex with a computer? Barely any zombie shooting, just blah (related to RE at least).
Mario...just sucked.
There was a cool Aliens game for like Win 3.1 or something...it was a cool movie based game.
Tomb Raider was a mediocre movie by itself, but licensing makes it crap to compare with the game.
True Lies for Genesis and SNES was a cool movie based game, it didn't exactly follow the plot, but it was cool and fun.
We're actually on the subject of games to movies that didn't suck though...and those are rare...No one likes to follow game storylines.
Halo could be cool if they followed the game exactly (condense the ending a bit though, it starts to move slow). With cool action angles and stuff...just follow the actuall game plot.
Half-Life might be able to be made into a movie, follow Gordon through his adventures, just take a small liberty with the scientists, have Gordon linked with one with a headset or something (like a dude for the Lamda Complex).
Listening to: Torn, by Natalie Imbruglia
...I'm torn, between my love of killing and my love of not being arrested...or something funny like that.

all movies based on games turn out bad, final fantasy : spirits within was good as it was different from the game, besides how long did it take you to finish half life without cheating ? 5 hours ? that means some scenes have to be cut of the movie, half life is too preicous to be turned into a two hour movie, besides Gordon never talks, you would spend 5 hours watching a man fight aliens and the army, travel to xen without saying a word <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Back to silent movies! Down with Cameron Diaz and Matt Damon, Up with Charlie Chaplin and that one Jazz dude.
Listening to: Everybody Hurts, by REM
...My wallet hurts, it's stomach is empty...
Hmm, last time I saw Evil Dead there were neither skeletons nor villagers in the movie...
