<div class="IPBDescription">NS for CPL. Lets get it goin.</div> Guys, I want anyone who wants NS in the CPL to reply to this post. If you don't, don't post. I wanna see how many do. If its a lot, I'll be sure to e-mail a link there.

And don't scoff at this, please. I just think that NS is the first game CPL worthy.

Well... I'm all for having NS expand to new horizons.. but what's CPL? If I had to guess, I'd say "Competitive PLayers League" or something like that. I'm all for getting NS into some competeive play.. or something to that effect... but please.... what's CPL?

How will we know if it works? We haven't played 2.0 and 1.0 wasn't worthy. And as soon as you start going head to head with CS theres going to be a looser... I honestly think that NS <b>WILL</b> be a better game for competitive play. But since events only make money from their size of fanbase (so they can appeal to bigger sponsors) can you honestly say that they will choose NS over CS? The CPL also seems to only take one game for each discipline (team fps, ffa fps, rts, etc.) unfortunately until NS's prescence in its CAL leagues heats up (which it won't do until 2.0) we will never have the fanbase to support a claim for NS to take its place in the CPL. Which frankly sucks <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>. I want NS in the CPL, but if we do it too early or too late we will not get a second chance... All the best - Tink

I think that post pretty much summed up my thoughts, nice as this thread is I honestly don't think it will make the people over at CPL consider NS for their league's any more then they already do. I honestly think that if NS is destined for the CPL it'll be an increase in the activity of the CAL NS leagues that will gain it a place in the CPL, not a forum post of al the hardcore fans petitioning for it to be a CPL game because "it's juts as good as cs, if not better". CPL = Cyber-Athlete Professional League
CAL = Cyber-Athlete Amateur League

NS is already played competively by about 50 clans (peak 1.0 data.. only like 14 of those still play lol)

The CPL is basically the "father" of CAL, if a CAL league gets lots of support, you might see it at the CPL. (For instance, CS, the most popular CAL (something like 5 leagues?) game, is the official CPL game).

Wait until CAL gets things straight, then worry about CPL. Their rules on scoring and victory are a bit contrived as is. Time/resource collected victory my butt.

Besides, I'd rather have one GOOD league than lots of creppy ones.

What would you prefer as victory conditions?

On the subject, I'd love for NS to go to the CPL, however, I believe the clan base, and the game itself is still in it's infancy. I'd really hesitate to push this too hard. DoD almost went at one point, but fell short because the clan's just couldn't come up with the numbers. And they had more then than we did at our largest moment. If I can get one hell of a lot of replies to this, with NO or LITTLE repeats in the same people, then we can force them to.

I mean, for lord sakes, PLANETSIDE is going on the CPL. Just cause its got like what, a few thousand people? WE HAVE SEVERAL THOUSAND.

BTW, if NS goes CPL, clans won't matter.

We'll probably all get drafted, and arranged into totally new teams.

NS isn't ready quite yet, there are just too few clans. Wait til 2.0 is released and hopefully NS will get a larger player/clan base.

Planetside? Maybe you mean Halo PC not Planetside, Planetside is a Massive Multiplayer Game, something the CPL isnt looking for.

Getting NS to the CPL is a huge goal of mine, and I won't stop until it's there. Yes, please. AFAIK Othell probably has the swing to bring NS to the CPL if he wanted to, but I doubt he has the want/time to organize all the prequals and stuff. Thing is - yes, there arent enough clans playing it right now, but if NS was in the CPL then there'd be alot more clans playing it competitively.

Give it a couple seasons in CAL. With 2.0 a lot of the old clans will reappear, and if as it seems it has a solid, no-tricks competative play level, I'm sure it's CPL calibre.
