Haven't had a decent game of NS in a week now since Roob's went down (back up tuesday evening!!! new server, better than ever!)

Lowered myself to Harry Potter 2 as I needed a break from NS...

The first 4 days are hard...
Then it gets easier...
The pain remains....

Cheers

rofl. I'm about an hours flight from Amsterdam.

But I too am in withdrawal. Last Tuesday was when I left my haus and it shan't be until July 30 that I will be back home, working on my n3wb comm skillz again. Fortunately, that's only a day away from 2.0 so it shall be like coming home on Christmas morning.

Go lerk ASAP and get killed in 20 seconds

Spam voice-comm

Go comm and...

I wonder how you managed to do that. When the install is done properly, only the boot loader is affected, but it shouldn't have any bad effect on Windows. That's the first time I hear of someone messing up a driver in one OS due to the installation of a different OS. Well, unless you didn't partition the system correctly and damaged the Windows partition, but that would cause more trouble than merely a loss of sound.

When i partitioned my HD i moved Windows to the back of the the HD just to make sure that LILO would work. I'm prety sure that that's what caused the sound loss.

Windows really dosen't like its partition played with... I once screwed my windows up so bad I had to reformat, and then reinstall.. it suxed.. Red Hat (the installer that fux0red windows) worked fine though.. Maybe its a simple matter or linux not liking windows

Windows likes to be in the first partition on the disk, set as bootable. It tends to cause problems (though those are partition/HD-related, never seen it affect sound) when it has partitions it doesn't recognize in front of it. Possible behaviour includes trying to wipe the "unrecognized filesystem" (Linux) and turning it into a Windows filesystem. Fortunately, it does ask for confirmation before doing so. Unfortunately, it always continues to ask...

If your're willing to mess with Grub, this might help: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/mini/Multiboot-w...-with-GRUB.html
Though I still think it's weird the sound was affected. You did try uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers, right?
