took 5 hrs altogether
another peice of art I have finished.

I will ahve to tell you, this is half the size of the actual picture, the actual picture is 1231 x 1543 , it is so large because i plan to get it out as a print and sell it. it looks alot better in its original size, but due to it being 7mb in size. it would be 2mb as jpg or gif, so i resized it. so here is the pic, tell me what ya think

    Wow, top work kyliegirl. So cute

    One criticism unfortunately, The wallaby, from the head down the neck, looks a bit too "stuck on" if you see what i mean, could use a little blending into the background a little more.

    But other than that tiny petty little criticism, great work!

    Kylie, that's fantastic -- seriously, beautiful work.

    I think what esuna's seeing is that the highlights on the brumby are much brighter than those on the wallaby; you might try giving it a little more contrast to make light values match. Aside from that, my only criticism would be that the tree gets thicker at the top. (;

    Seriously, though, gorgeous.

    nope its fine, the wallabys head dont look stuck on, you musnt have seen how wallabies hold their heads etc. backgrounds fine. not many people understand but the "TRUE" australian outback is kilometers and kilometers of dead grass with a few gum trees scattered around. the picture is to represent true mother nature in its beauty, not agricultural views with sheds or anything in the background.

    Coil found the words i was looking for, the contrast between the wallaby's neck and the light grass just makes it a bit odd.

    But don't get me wrong, this is still fantastic work.

    well the light contrast is right to me as the horse thingy - Brumby? - is shadowing over the - Wallaby? -

    enough of my petty witerrings...

    Good Work

    Okay... ouch. I don't know if you intended it to sound a bit defensive (practically rude) but it came out that way.

    The wallaby looks realistic, but it looks like it's from a different image. The contrast in shadows is different from the rest of the image.

    In reply to xexe^, not all shows in the U.S. are like that, but I understand where your coming from because many do portray that image, which is a shame like many other things on our T.V. stations. argh, so many gullable teens lead to these HORRIBLE shows. Thats y i became a mouse potato

    exactly xexe, Drawing that picture actually reminded me of the time me and my mum and her boyfriend went camping (when i lived in mt isa in qld) and e went for a walk at the riversleagh national park, along the way we came across alot off wallabies, all of them hopped off except for one male wallabie which casually crawled up to us and ejoyed a pat and a scratch around the ear and a hug, I mean its very rare for a wallaby to be so bold to be handled by complete strangers. it was a very beautiful experience. wallabies are much smaller than kangaroos, and theyre very fluffy. the wallaby which we petted was maybe no higher than 1 meter , and his fur felt like puppies coat. of course, he grew tired of being handled and having photos taken and then slowly hopped away. theyre so cute

    im glad ya all like the pic. and factor, a wallaby is like a kangaroo, looks like a rabbit cross with something. and a brumby is a wild australian horse. more or less classed as a new breed of horse as they have been living in teh wild for 200 years , simaler to the mustangs, but usually worse conformation. not the best horse to own if your looking for a good build. more or less only used for pleasure horses or cart horses etc.
