Sprite Making Guide

I was wondering if anyone has a good online guide for making HL sprites(specifically crosshairs).

Main reason is that I want a VERY simple x-hair with just a coloured dot in the middle, nothing else, but since I dont like asking people to do stuff for me, and I wanna learn neway, I would love a guide.

Wavelength's tutorials are very good too. I don't have the URL to hand, but they're linked in Modelling 101.

Hmmm, how do other crosshairs get that bluey effect on the marine side? Like sort misty blue, I would like that as well

Can anyone offer some advice? I used Sprite viewer and Sprite wizard to do this.

Atm I have a simple 4x4 pixel blue dot, but I would prefer it is that faded misty colour.

/me wubs Maus <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> - Thanks for the guide, will come in hand for more advanced stuff.

But the above problem still exists, due to it being NS specific.
