For i have played gloom
I installed gloom today. I feel like hitting myself in the face with a baseball bat. Please tell me that NS will have little resemblance to that mod.

The action was too fast, the height on the levels was wa too much (too 3-demensional to be fun) and the classes just blew!

How can some of you play that game?

No wonder I couldn't get it to work..............my comp works on fun and fun only. Suckiness makes my comp crash and that's why it's happens when I play cs.

CS is a kickass game, it's just many of the players ruin it. Here's hoping that NS doesn't become anything like CS...

CS kills itself with trying to be too realistic. Yes, the damage is quasi realistic, and the models are quasi realistic, but when in real life will 6 terrorists and 6 counter terrorists buy huge ### guns and run at each other?

Stop the Hate! CS is Great! uh..... yeah, I dont know if the NS forums are the place to hold debate about cs, but lets just say, video games are meant to be fun, so who cares whether something is suppose to be like real life, if its fun (and if you are any good at cs, it is lots) then its a good game, even if counter terrorists and terrorists dont regularly buy large weapons and run at each other in the middle of who knows where. Similairly, Gloom is made to be fun, maybe not the ultimate in tactics gameplay and teamwork, but still just fun, and its oldschool so leave it alone. or something

Yep... some games are fun, some aren't, it all depends on your tastes, personally, i like CS alot... when i'm winning, otherwise, i hate it

Let me guess, you got your poor behind whooped and that's why you hate it? Gloom is NOT like CS where you can expect to win the first time you try it. Gloom has a very steep learning curve.

b)save up to be the big bug

c)die

d)rinse and repeat

This is more off-topic than general. However, some gracious person my actually want to answer it's main intent, so I left a link to it.

That linky thing is a great idea. You should do that to every post you move. People can't reply to a link, so it won't pollute the wrong thread. Also, people will know that their thread wasn't deleted, just moved.

bah! you moved it just when i was about to post! and it gave me a thread is locked message! argh!
o well, what i wrote then was something like:
I wont play gloom cuz i dont like deathmatch, and i dont like deathmatch because i dont like disorder, blah, blah...
and ns will rock because of teamwork (order) and the fact of it being 2 teams adds a LOT of order, even if there would be no teamwork...
it was mainly about me not wanting to test gloom cuz of high speed and deathmatchy gameplay...
however this is what i like:

I found that people that most people that play CS allot (yes I play it a bit every now and then at LANS mainly) don't like gloom maybe because it every thing about it is almost complete opposite
Best experience is when you have the right group of people playing to win as a team (winning solo is very hard unless they are complete noobs you need some one to support your classes weak points or repair/maintain defense etc)

Class just give you different tactics and rolls to play(bigger are not all ways better) frags are cheap can get them easily hell on 700 ping I can get some
Goal is actually destroy the enemy spawns (like NS) any way you can (usually falls down to kami/c4 Spamor or organize them selves to coordinate the attacks)

If you dislike fast pacing, play a support class. Both wraith and bio have pretty relaxed jobs.

Or try being a builder, they don't have to shoot anything ... directly. However, you will still be "rushed" to build quickly and efficiently, much like in an RTS. So it requires some learning. I didn't attempt building until I had spectated a number of games with veteran builders. The builders make or break the team in Gloom. :)

Oh, about the deathmatch-y gameplay. If you keep dying over and over again, you are just feeding the other team points for higher classes. You know, so they can come clean house against your team of level 1's. Tsk, tsk.

**OFF-TOPIC: Those little links also clutter up the forums. We don't need a hundred links to ideas that are mis-placed. Looking for an off-topic thread? You shouldn't be able to get there from the general or ideas forum.

cs is a really great game.....its just most of the ppl that play it are ########. i noticed this influx of ######## happen when they added the headshot sprite, ppl misinterpret a lucky shot as cheating, and later when they sold the game in stores alowing the ######## to pour in like a tidle wave.
1.0 was sold in a store near u....by late 1.1 noname was heart broken over his favorite game becoming $hit and completely removed c.s.

thats me little rant bout c.s.
