Ns_veil back story

I'm sure a few terms are wrong, a few details misaligned, etc... And I don't even know if Relic25 will agree to my use of the Bast in the story... but I just started writing and this is what I ended up with. Lemme know if you think I should change/correct anything, and I'll remove all references to Bast if it doesn't fit in at all. Which it probably doesn't.

    I read, I liked.  Makes me wish I had time to finish writing 'blockade buster' * sigh * .

    You're description of the establishment of the colony makes it sound small, yet when the aliens arrive they've got over 40 militia to send after them, that strikes me as a little odd.

    For some reason I didn't imagine Bast being the type of ship that ever lands.  However I did like the way you wrote it in.  I can imagine backstories like this describing the progression of the infestation through human space, one map after another.

    Can't wait to see this map.

    hrmm, good point... that IS a damn big ship... Maybe it's just a supply shuttle, heh... I'll worry about that if I end up leaving that part in. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> I'm assuming at this point that part of the story won't hold up with Relic's.

    Also, as far as the numbers... I'm going with a total of somewhere around 200-300 personnel (mining crews, security force, command station, then take into account the food processing facility). You need a lot of people to run frontier outposts! <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> Again, this is just an early run through of the story, it'll probably be tidied up before the map is done.

    But a 6:46 loss ratio?  That's a little to large consider it's just Bobs.  Otherwise, I like it!

    That was mentioned before -- These are not fully trained Frontiersmen guarding the base either. They don't even know what they're up against. They're more of a security force than a full military presence. I'll try to clear this up in a revised version.

    really liked the story, i did like the part with the bast, but i have to agree it's a big ship, maybe just make it a shuttle that the bast launched while in orbit?

    Great looking layout, Andrew! <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> Looks like maybe it might be a bit easier for the marines to get to hive 1 than the rest, but other than that it looks great! Very creative and original. I truly am looking forward to playing this map.
