<div class="IPBDescription">...what would you pick?</div> This post is kinda a cross between a suggestion and an off-topic post, so I guess it's neither <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Hypothetically speaking: if you got to pick how many levels of a certain class of upgrade you could have, instead of always having three of one of them, what would you pick? In other words, instead of having to pick l3 regeneration OR l3 carapace OR l3 redemption, if you could pick, say, l1 cara l2 regen and no redemption, what combination would you pick?
I'd pick 12 cara, l1 regen, l2 celerity, l1 silence, l2 cloaking, l1 scent of fear.

Read the post again. It is not a suggestion. It is a hypothetical question.
And, as for the question, it depends on the species.
you have some issues, acer-r. i suggest you watch yourself before you get banned from the bored for being a troll.
for me:
lvl 2 cara, lvl 1 regen, lvl 2 adren, lvl 1 celerity, lvl 2 cloak, lvl 1 enhanced site.
it would be a really good for attacks away from defence chambers, and the celerity will give you speed advantages over everything except for jpers and help you get away to regen. i might want to switch cara with regen and have silence with cloak to make a regenning fade hard to locate.

It would depend on what evolution I'm playing and what's happening in the battlefield.
Every time I read about that bloody scorpian i start giggling again.
I the better to <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> with
That poor horse...
as for me:
2 cara (its just good)
1 regen (I tend to do alot of sneaking around/camping/amushes so that time to regen is ussed)
not sure if I would split between adren and celerity or not, probably just flat adren (ore possibly 2 adren 1 celerity)
2 SoF 1 enhanced sight
SoF is my FRIEND, lob a bile bomb into their base and you know ehre they ALL ARE! and enhanced is cool for the dark maps (aliens so need a flashlight of some sort <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
skulk= l2 cara l1 regen l2 celer l1 adren (silence not good enuf tl 1.1) l2 cloakin l1 scent of fear
gorge= l2 redemp l1 cara l2 adren l1 silence (stops da gorge walkin sound) l2 cloak l1 scent of fear
lerk= l2 regen l1 cara l2 adren l1 silence l2 scent of fear l1 cloaking
fade= l2 cara l1 redemp l2 adren l1 celer l2 cloakin l1 scent of fear
onos= l2 cara l1 redemp l2 adren l1 celer l2 claokin l1 scent of fear
but if i could pick only one thing then it would be the fades/onos one <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Regen fully as lerk and adren
Maybe as an offset to the cara in 1.1 some celerity as well
(I only play skulk and lerk anyway)
What about a light bulb in their arse like a fire fly?
Gorge: 2 Redemption 1 Carapace, 2 Celerity 1 Adrenaline, 2 Cloaking 1 Scent of Fear
Lerk: 2 Carapace 1 Regeneration, 2 Adrenaline 1 Silence, 2 Cloaking 1 Phermones
Fade: 2 Regeneration 1 Carapace, 3 Adrenaline, 2 Cloaking 1 Scent of Fear
Onos: 3 Regeneration, 2 Celerity 1 Adrenaline, 2 Phermones 1 Scent of Fear
Skulks really need that protection and speed, along with some stealth in case you encounter some heavies and need to sneak away or set up an ambush. Cloaking is excellent for hiding on the ceiling until the Marines pass then gutting their ranks. Of course, it's also useful when hiding from the heavies until Fades or Onos arrive.
Gorges stand no chance in combat so redemption is a good choice for me, with a little carapace to keep meh alive long enough for my team to come. Gorges are so slow that I need celerity just so I don't feel crippled and adrenaline is great for supporing team mates in battle and webbing up the heavies, not to mention sending about 10 babblers into the Marine base. Cloaking should allow the Gorge to hide in the shadows until the threat passes, and scent of fear give them an early warning.
Lerks drop like flies (literally) without carapace, but as they are "snipers" that guard one location and support later on, it wouldn't do to leave your Fade unumbra-ed when you return to base to heal. Adrenaline lets you keep a wall of spikes up, and silence helps with the previously mentioned "sniper" aspect. Phermones for stalking the prey and shooting their backs. Cloaking is perfect for snipers.
Fades are usually used for prolonged sieges against Marine bases, and need that extra healing so their assault doesn't get bogged down by people returning to the Hive. Carapace is absolutely necessary against HMG'ers, and if HA is in the picture I would take triple carapace. Acid spamming may be hated but it is very effective, especially if you single out a Marine to kill each time you pop out from cover, and I need adrenaline for defending against JP (the splash damage is the only way to get them if they're dodging).
Onos are already frickin' unstoppable, so I really don't need the extra protection of carapace. Their regen rate of about 50-100 hp per tick makes them practically invincible against LMGs and you'd need at least 3 people with HMGs to kill me as an Onos. I find the standard Onos gore effective against both Marines and their buildings, so I don't need that much adrenaline as Onos. Celerity is great; combined with the gore it's like having permanent charge. I've never had to hide as Onos "All I need to know is where they are," quoth Pvt. Vasquez...
