Welcome to the Australian Internationals Discussion. The Australian Internationals is the team picked to play NS on the international level against such world class teams as the USA, NZ, Korea etc.
The team consists of 12 players, rotated depending on the committee's decision. This team can be changed, flipped, moved around etc. at will by a majority vote by the committee. The committee consists of 6 members, and was chosen under tight secrecy by trusted Australian NS community members. The short-list was soon established to be: Pie_Lad, LaCHiE, kyk0, uncivilised, Rogue01, Kandy-Man, Karma and Lethy.
The end result was myself, Felix, z|mo|, Lethy, Pie_Lad and mR_fLaK.
The committee will soon post news on the selected 12 members who are chosen to play in the Australian Internationals. Some well respected Australian Natural Selection Community members were not chosen so that they could be picked to play, so please don't feel left out, you are all a part of the community the selected few are to represent.
The committee will choose the best team, not on biased decisions, but to get a team which will annihilate the foreign teams, Thank you.

Ok, thanks for waiting, we have finnaly picked the Australian Internationals team to play against USA, Korea etc blah blah blah...
It was hard to decide who for one had the traits of a good ns player, like teamwork, skill, fairplay etc.
This will be the team of 12 which hasn't been split into 2 seperate groups of 6 each as of yet.

Very sorry if you applied and didn't get in. We may still need players in the future if someone pulls out, and trust me, it was hard for us to decide who should be in the team. Yes, i can see there are 7 hybrid, 2 Kor fellas, NSP (psi?), eiko (freelancer) and testy (XP). Well Hyb are #1 in aus, with kor at unofficial #2....
But anyway, I hope you like the team, if not then i don't care anyway and you can go sulk, but I hope you know that we picked a team which would win and represent Aus, not for fun.
We'll be asking countries to war us soon, and if not (and they decline) then we'll offend them with Aegis' propaganda!

Perhaps it has something to do with the - prove yourself, then we will respect you attitude so prevalent here.
The one exception is the Australian soccer team - nubs they are, nubs they will be. Even though they thrashed the poms they still get no respect from anyone.

Just saying it's always subjective and not neccessarily a true representation of the 'best', which I spose is a hard thing to figure out anyway.

I am sorry but the Australian team is easily the best in the world.
Burst your arrogant little bubble. But because of the circumstances in Australia, the community is very very close.
We have an extremely high level of skill and our top clan consistentaly beat any in the world.
But enough of the hype.
Wait till you see them play.
And like Sp@ceM0nkey said, the australian community is very close. this is in part thanks to there only being one major website for us to gather at <a href='http://www.ausns.org' target='_blank'>( AusNS )</a>. While I haven't seen all of the team members in action, I do believe the team is a strong one (and as is expected of australian sporting teams, I believe this team could beat the poms <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ).

I wont pimp their servers cause thats up to them. We mainly use our servers for pracing, and wars. Most of our online play is dont on isp servers.
Australian internet is payed by per mb. Playing on isp servers are free.

Where do all the easterners play? The only servers I ever see anyone on are the Optus ones, and the WA ones.

I do realise that they lost to Hyp and Kor, but |DoW|.Bee. and |DoW|.Grazza. should at least get a look in; Bee's aim is uncanny and Grazza's skulkage is second to none. You should really try playing on eftel with some of the DoW's before you past judement on the 'Best of the Best'.

Well the West Australian Powerhouse team taking on the well rated Kor side. In what some may call match of Pool B, Kor took it out oldschool in another match. The Quality of the matches in this competition has been outstanding. First half Kor were marines and a quick rush to Reactor Room to secure the res, turrets went up in the Reactor room attempting to secure it as DoW have started at Waste Handling. DoW secured the Cargo bay and Fusion area starting the hive and spamming OC's around it, it was clear this half was going to go for an epic 2 hive battle, Kor's JP/HMG Attempt at fusion was shut down by OC's and flying skulks with some awesome West Australian skills being shown, Kor quickly replanned and attempted to seige waste from the room next door without luck. The 2nd hive was up after this failed attempt and Kor knowing their time was limited attempted an all out HA/HMG Push to Waste handling, but the marine spawn was taken out and Kor lost that half in 41minutes.
Second Half Kor aliens spawned at Sat Comm hive, DoW base hopped to Fusion and setup camp, holding off Kor's constant rushes they looked steady with mines everywhere and 4+ Res Points, however Kor finally got their lvl3 cara, confidence and teamwork up and made a perfect rush to fusion overwhelming the DoW defense there, taking out everything in sight, DoW made a last stitch effort to stay in the game with an attempted rebuild of base at west access, one IP up before Kor came down on them, 16minutes.
May I say you should watch the demo as it has Kal's commetry and he assures me that is good quality smile.gif

Hybrid has the top players in Australia.
couple of the hybrid members woudn't be ranked so far up but what is lost in skills is made up in the teamwork that will all ready be there and won't need work to take the team up to standard.
+ 7 players that know each other inside out and over 60 wars under there belt togeather, you can't go wrong.

fixxxy: I don't think team members that refuse to play on servers at the other side of the country (only 2 timezones away) because they arn't on broadband are worth considering for an international team where the servers will be much more distant. Perhaps it is only you upset about the pings though - another reason why a diversified panel would be better. (Just for the record, I live in Western Australia too - but have made my servers of choice GameArena on the other side of the country).
Anywho, that aside I would just like to congratulate the team and wish them luck in future matches - do us proud <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
