Game Intro Movies

<div class="IPBDescription">What are your favorites?</div> So when I install a game for the first time I usualy sit back and watch the games intro movie, rather intersting.

I like the Mechwarrior movies (sadly they usually end with one lone mech pilot getting utterly owned after hes left alone, ahh so heroic)

Also what to you people think are better, the real actors overlayed over CG animations, (ie Mechwarror4) or ones with all CG animations (mafia)

If I had to rank my favorite intro movies including music, plot, all that..

1. Mafia
2. Freelaner
3. Mechwarrior 1
4. Battlefield 1942
5. Medal of Honor Allied Assault
6. HL tram ride
7. Rainbow 6
8. Homeworld
9. Max Payne
10. Resident Evil 2

Nah, no real actors. They always look out of place in CG movies.

    My favourites:
    Magic Carpet -- best narrator
Master of Magic -- because it was short, cool and to the point and I watched it every time I played <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Total Annihilation -- best music

Psygnosis games on the Amiga always had cool intros. My favourites probably being <i>Shadow of the Beast 2</i> and <i>Killing Game Show</i>.

    More modern ones:
Metal Gear Solid 2 (<i>Wraaa!</i> - so very cool)
    Alpha Cantauri
    Baldur's Gate
    MDK2
Fallout 2 (and the original, for that matter)

It's a bit long but yes it is good. [hijack]I think they should remake that. Would look great on todays hardware[/hijack]

My favourite intro is from MGS2. When Snake jumps off the bridge and onto the tanker.

    1. Starcraft (and Brood War)

    2. Homeworld

    3. System Shock 2 (ending, who needs perfection anyway?)

    4. Diablo (The first one, D2 Sux0rz)

    5. FF9 wins for the best quality for a FMV, the detail in FF9's opening scene is insane.

...and a bit cheesy too but I liked it nevertheless, probably because I just loved that game ...and yes they should make a remake! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
