I need some, help
Okay, i have to write a bigass essay on why the earth is like a living organism. I'm currently running out of ideas so i would like to know what you, my fellow forumites think would be a good idea. Basically stuff like why cycles that keep the earth "alive" like the foodchain (which ive done). Ideas that have to do with the earths biomes will receive extra respect.

any help will be rewarded with respect from me (not that thats very important)

Maybe you could say something about the hydrological cycle. I know it's geography but it is a constant process which happens all the time.

just write a whole lot how, earth is like an organism because it has parasites(humans), and it has blood (Volcanoes and magma) and ect.ect.

Say something like, if it gets wounded to a certain degree, it heals itself, like when you carve in the beach and it washes it away.

Something how its constantly changing and growing and moving around.

And how mothernature screws us all at every turn. Every chance she gets, just like humans....

i dunnno, run with some of those.

    It's called the Gaia theory.

    http://www.gaianet.fsbusiness.co.uk/gaiatheory.html

    Enjoy.

Oh, and a few diagrams and maybe a 20 taped to the back wouldn't hurt .

As far as biomes go, Natural selection seems to take effect to help entire species balance out their environment, which, in turn, stabilizes the food chain. This keeps vegetation in check, and thus, keeps a biome's main properties pretty much constant, which allow for less change that has to be adapted to.

Stealing from one person is "plagerism".
    Stealing from many is "research".

    Good luck. :P
