Is There Any Honour In Ns?

My experience
Late one night, there were too few players to make it a worthy game, so, I declared the match to be a muckaround. It was knife vs parasite.
Now we were having a ball. However. Later on I was parasiting this guy. He was knifing me, but with good old regen and sufficient dodging, I was wearing him down. I figure I'm at least one parasite away from a kill, when he rips out his HMG and kills me.
I explain to him that he has to KNIFE me, not shoot me. His excuse was that he was close to death, I say that was the whole point =\
Wash rinse and repeat for several times with a HMG or a GL. I finally give him an ultimatum. If he kills me by any other means then knife/welder while I'm parasiting him, I would get very very angry.
I catch him in a hallway in HA and start parasiting. He knife/welds at me happily. However, on the verge of succuming, he rips out his gren launcher and slaughters me.
Thats it. I snapped.
I told them calmly that they had angered me for the last time. I quitely evolved into onos and got my upgrades. I marched into marine spawn and gored the lamer to death. His friend started to shoot at me, so I gored him too. The comm jumps out and starts to shoot, so I get him as well. Thoroughly enraged I tear apart the marine spawn singlehandedly.
Upon entering the ready room, he calls me a few unmentionable names and leaves.
What I'd like to know is what is so hard to understand? Knife Vs Para. Either you knife me to death, or I parasite you to death. It cant really be more clean cut then that.
Anyway, the question posed is, is there any honour or honourable players in NS? The only reason I got angry is the fact that he didnt have the honour to at least die by parasite, just as I would have had the honour to die by his knife or welder. If I were close to death by knife and it were a muck around, I would not switch to bite or xenocide just so I wouldnt get owned.
I guess this is a bit of a rant, dont take it too seriously...
But still, do you know of any honourable players?

i've had some quite fun knife Vs parasite fights, tho un-arranged generally is quite easy to avoid being knifed (so long as one of his teammates doesnt turn up with a gun...) but at least a couple of times one of us ended up falling into a big hole and dying like that
somehow me and the same bloke had at least 4 or 5 of those during a game, but i've no idea how as the other ppl playing were attacking properly - so very strange
But if it was a knife vs parasite battle and both sides knows it there should be no LMG's or bite's involved.
...its not a serious topic but its more fun if people play with honour
Parasite vs Knife fights arent fights. Bite vs Knife are. Parasiting a marine all you have to do is run around since you are faster than him, or stay on a wall siting him all day long. Its not even a fight, its humiliation.
Crikey!
I had this fun para-knife fight(I was the marine) but when the fight was getting its ending(I was near death and he was too) some other Skulk just runs there and kill me.
Dahm :/
SOMETIMES breaking the rules also = fun. In that match one person kept getting killed so he suddenly whipped out 2 mini uzis and killed 3 of us. He only did it once and it made us all laugh. But certainly not like that chap in your game...
I'll play Knife vs Para with you if you like!
EDIT: Though only once.
If its not funny or enjoyable then he was a lamer.
By the way, I never play knife vs. parasite games. I always play Heavy MachineGun vs. Xenocide. Now that, that is fun. Light Armoured Marine with HMG, no upgrades, versus a Carapaced Skulk that will Leap, then Xenocide. Objective is to kill him before he Xenocides.
Extremely fun on maps such as ns_eclipse, where all the guy has to do is camp the doors and *secretly* nab upgrades in the dark corners (bye bye in 1.1...). Also fun for Skulks on ns_caged. Sometimes you can run in there while he's building, and hop on the ceiling of the resource room, then when he camps there...

Listen, no matter what any one says, there is honor in NS (primarily individuals like you and me), but the fact of the matter is there isn't enough.
Taboo is right though, when people know they can get away with being jerks, the worst in humanity can come out. Yet this thread seems to have enough good examples of the better side of it.
Here in Europe we have Clanbase which, unlike CAL, doesnt enforce matches. Basically, you CAN pick the clans you want to fight against. It ranks you though, and of course, as in any league, those on top tend too mention it, yes? Quite understandable.
All the way until to the point where they are high on the ladder and a clan that has beaten them in a practice match drops a challenge.
To give an accurate example. Clan A is #3 in Clanbase. Clan B is number #7 in Clanbase. Their points difference isnt huge enough to cause huge losses to clan A if clan A looses. Clan A recoqnizes clan B is better than them, then finds out an excuse not to play. Like "No, we cant play now, we are having a break" with their clanbase schedule full of upcoming matches. Now this is where I find the honor. The balls to play a team that is ranked unjustifiedly below you.
Funny thing is, this rarely occurs in the CS scene. It does, but rarely. In Finnish CS everyone seems to play only official matches every day, rankings change a lot and nobody really cares. But in NS? Its "OMG We might loose points!"
Just doesnt happen. Call me bitter.
Ayup, this is a rant!

I feel like I'm in some samurai movie with a sign, instead of saying out fishing, saying, "out sommiting seppku."
Funny example of a total idiot/jerk:
Not sure what map it was. The game had just started, and our team is made out of pretty decent vets with a very competent com. We relocate and very get armor +1 and weapons +1 upgrades before we all rush thier hive. The other team was pretty noobish. Thier gorge was building a ton of DCs around thier hive and not moving out.
We basically come in and effectively ahnihilate the while alien team and begin killing thier hive when suddenly we're all slayed by an admin. The whole marine team **** about it and then the same admin waits until we all respawn and then slays us all AGAIN. We respawn again and then the whole alien team just rushes us like mad, while we're still trying to recover from all. So all of the rines just say screw it and hit F4.
And wouldn't you know it. The admin comes into the RR and starts screaming at the rine team for being bad sportsmen and not dying with dignity, while stealing his 'victory'.
We all just left the server then and there (including the former alien team) and never went back.
If it was your server, use stripper2 to take out every weapon but knife and parasite and there. No noobs ruining you game.
So like take out
weapon_machinegun
weapon_heavymachinegun
weapon_pistol
Not sure if you would want to take out a welder..
Leave the jetpacks and heavy armor.
Aliens, take out weapon_bitegun, stuff like that..
You would have a perfect game.

We were 7 on the server (Roob's) after a few intense and interesting games the player count dropped , and seeing that mostly everyone was willing to just mess around we did the wackiest things in Hera.
Someone already went comm and dropped a CC in the ventilation hive , to give a signal to the aliens probably. Seeing that we were slaughtered , the comm re - relocated to holoroom which was soon flooded with naughty skulks , evading our knife attacks. No para kills yet , the gorge just put DCs a bit too near and we got owned by one or two seriously playing skulks.
Next game I went comm , chatted with my team a bit before dropping an IP , then proceeded to drop an armory and an obs on the crates... my soldiers had a hard time building them , but finally made them. Other tech buildings were built on the crates later.
Note : building the armory on the Hera starting dock middle crate is the ultimate solution to armory humping. Marines have to jump like mad to get ammo half as fast unless you put a phase gate near the crate. It is easy to mine too , so you can do it in pubs , needs support from half of the team though
One of the previously serious players was opposed to the "parasite vs knife" match type. He said "building time"... after pinging archiving I noticed that he dropped 3 sensories (had motion tracking researched unfortunately)
Marines were fooling around , unable to hold locations , except one who camped Ventilation. I dropped him an RT... seeing that he was unable to reach it , I thought "need a tall building here !" and dropped the protolab under the ramp. Dropped a phase here too , but lerks had much more fun on this game and chomped most of the equipment I could drop.
So I started upgrading weapons (lmg match , gave a few shotties sometimes) and the poor hive 2 aliens with no DC were seriously hurt... we couldn't hold anything else though , the gorge spammed OCs all around the map basically.
This is when the things become really interesting. Aliens had a smoother use of cloaking and I had to ping them all the time despite MT , but higher level lmgers killed several fades (lerks were more lucky , they could use umbra all the time and stay cloaked)
No side was able to really hold that many ressources for long , but they had 2 hives , heh. 1 or 2 fades roaming around , but with no defense upgrades , fighting lmg JPers , this kind of original situation made the game tense and thrilling for both sides.
Soon the umbra spamming lerks ate all my JPers and the protolab , so I rebuilt one and upgraded everything to level3 as a revenge. I gave 5 HA&welds to my team , ordering them to march on Archiving , which they did pretty well (previous jetpackers softened the resistance here) until they reached the weldable ground. They opened it at the expense of 1 or 2 HAs... the brave marines respawned and repelled the nasty fades who were attacking the base.
Unfortunately the HA team used their lmgs more than their welders so only 2 HAs made it to the hive ; they couldn't kill it. Soon after I noticed a skulk that was munching the CC since the beginning of the game almost destroyed it. I tried to drop a CC near Archiving but didn't have the res... and I fell prey to his sharp teeth.
We had no CC.
Emptied of our hopes but filled with rage , we rushed the archiving hive again , this time without HAs , and killed many of its defenders. Unfortunately , sadistic lerks relentlessly spammed us with spores for the rest of the game...
We then attacked the 3 hives randomly , semi-ramboing and toying with the aliens. Damn little buggers had DCs now , so theses skulks were harder to knife and tried to xenocide all the time (lvl3 armor can only delay the marine's death , without medspam)
Only a few Oni popped in at random intervals due to the lack of capped res nodes. Most of the alien team was made of lerks busy sporing the **** out of us , in our base or in their hives.
Knifing Oni was a joy , and we had about 1 onos / 5 marines death ratio.
Our buildings were decaying , even though skulks mainly used them as camouflage to leap on us. Then I noticed I was dead for good , and the remaining marines faced a glorious death swashbuckling with skulks.
Just to say this kind of experience is so fun , no side would dare rush the IPs or JP HMG their hives. When you have a reliable pool of regulars , try to start such games. It has nothing in common with the average pub server round , and not even the admin fooling in clan servers can match it. Stress relieving and truly enjoyable for everyone (until clan players try to play "seriously" and ruin the game)
What kind of a post is that? If you don't like it, don't post in it at all, you're just bumping it, and if you do, do something more than yawn!
While we're at it, what kind of a post is this?
Humans are capable of honor, animals are not. Why do you think they call some people "animals' (and not in a nice way)? Trust me, we look down at people like you.
