I Just Played On Voogru

<div class="IPBDescription">and I liked it!</div> Ok well not JUST but a few games yesterday and I liked it.
Rines were not so uber-dominant anymore and it was good to have a few hard earned victories (and even losses).
These servers (as well as custom map servers) give a good idea of where the balance issues lie.
First example being the minute the rines get JP, they start to do SERIOUS damage, so that was fixed.
Multiple gorges was made viable by "giveres" which worked amazingly well..and that got fixed as well.
Sensories cloak structures (not aliens I believe) and that works fine as well.
Manable sieges...OMG..just a big big no no..although fun to try and dodge the **** its just too much of a power tool.
Healing at armory..nuh uh..once again it showed the problem that once rines were cropped up in a hive there was no way to take them down.
The voogru servers are a bit what's between 1.04 and 1.1 and there's some REALLY nifty ideas in there, no wonder voogru himself got made a PT/VT.
One thing that still didn't make the cut though is the sensory chambers as a first chamber. I really doubt the chamber order will change even with 1.1..maybe MCs first and DCs second but sensory will never be a first choice (or possible second). This is the only thing I see that unless its reworked completely wont work in 1.1, I know this is speculative and I will say no more about it as Flayra is doing his utter best and has great ideas all the time, but as a reflection of the use of sensory chambers as cloakers they still seem underused.
Just wanted to say congrats to voogru for some kickbootay ideas and Flayra for implementing so many good things (even when not from voogru).

just my 2c!

Voogru games are generally fun, but always full, and sometimes laggy.

yeah, voogru games are great, almost like a testing ground for new ideas <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

its also good to go and play a 10v10 and win as aliens <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

The thing I don't like about voogru's is the giveres thing... Aliens get the second hive REALLY fast if everyone donates res to the pudgy. Plus, the marines actually need a good, fast working comm or its game over man, game over! Thus, i feel a *slight* imbalance. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yea, its not perfectly balanced. But I seen aliens winning a lot.

(btw, I seen posts referring to "Bio-nades" these have been removed for months, It was likely that the server was running a leaked copy of NSAdmin).

Voogru's servers are some of the best I've ever played on, but mannable sieges and health giving armoury have to die, the former, just... bleh, and the latter promotes turtling, which is no fun for either side.

    BTW the 1.05 servers are pretty good too, as a bridge to 1.1 <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
If you like voogru youll like them as well. Less extreme in every way but very very nice non the less.

Umm... didn't you go out of your way to put an older version of NSAdmin on your servers after you and Voogru parted ways recently?

And Cereal_KillR: Voogru is the guy who made NSAdmin, so they are pretty much one-and-the-same, AFAIK!

1.05 is a server side "hack" (plugins too) but less extreme than the voogru servers.
    No manable sieges etc.
Just small fixes like leap exploit (i think the leap/bite/leap thing)
Umbra spawning and some other stuff.
Just use gamespy or whatever and filter for 1.05, theres a few servers around.
Definitly a step up from 1.04 I think.

    shut ur hole

I have been using MC first on voogru servers because of celerity increasing attack speed. It's like a skulk has primal scream!
