Hi all,
nice forum you have here, found it very useful <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Apologies if this has already been mentioned but a search on these forums didnt produce what i was looking for.
so here's the question: What ports do NS use? this may be the same as Halflife, but i don't know those either.
Any help is appreciated

Client is usually 27005 (I'm not aware of any exceptions to this, though that doesn't mean there aren't).
Those are indeed the standard half life ports.
Roo
i presume those are udp?
doesnt the client use a range?.. or just that one
I've only ever seen 27005 as the client port, but I can't say definitely that it's not configurable <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Open up UDP 27015 and thats all you should need to do. Unless you are telling your dedicated server otherwise.
UDP: 27010-27015
TCP: 6002, 7003
UDP: 27010-27015
TCP: 6002, 7003 <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
actually i did do a search against all dates with the parameters "firewall ports" and just "ports" and it didnt return anything, maybe a db error or such, anyway thats neither here nor there now.
Thanks for the info.
