    Try these. Intro to Milkshape, read parts 1-6. Fairly clearly written and easy to follow
    <a href='http://www.machinima.com/articleselected.php?value=category&id=2' target='_blank'>http://www.machinima.com/articleselected.p...e=category&id=2</a>

    Slightly more advanced, but still not too complex.
    <a href='http://xu1productions.com/3dstudio/tuts/tmgun.html' target='_blank'>http://xu1productions.com/3dstudio/tuts/tmgun.html</a>

    Even more advanced. Leave this till last.
    <a href='http://www.polygods.com/tutorial.php?tid=11&page=1' target='_blank'>http://www.polygods.com/tutorial.php?tid=11&page=1</a>

    I think these are useful because they cover different ways of approaching the same problems. See what suits you best.

    Edit: Having had a look at what you're trying to make, I think maybe you should have a look at the zombie one ( the last one on my list ), looks like that technique might work nicely for this.

    When you click to make your faces between the verticces you have to always either go CLOCK WISE or COUNTERCLOCK WISE beacuse that detiremines what side will be black and which side will be white. So you shoudl probobly re do that. and this time remeber to click clockwise. ALWAYS go one way

    alas he is right... BUT, remember, work in flat shaded, and don't be afraid of one little Crtl-Z (Edit -> Undo)

    also, to create a more "3d" portion, try building verticies "out" in the top/front views... and connect them in a 3D area...

    Wouldn't a raptor be to big for a skulk?

    I think you can rather use it as fade.

    no it's not ment to be big *btw how big should the model be ?* , im gonna extend the claws , head lower down or maybe no neck and smaller tail, plus raptors dont shoot acid rockets <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    also i notice that you make alot of faces that cross over eachother. Look at the picture for an explaination. Work in flat shaded (right click on 3d projection) to see if you made a black face. If you have you select that face and only that face (deselect others if you have by mistake using shift+right click) then press ctrl+shift+f. hope this helps.

    e/ oh and that isn't a raptor you're trying to make its a compy.

    not a compy, compys dont have the razor sharp claw by their feet, then again you can't say what a raptor looks like, nor can i, no one has ever seen a dinosaur, the raptors ons on jurrasic park were too tall aswell, though the sounds where nice

    they are different perspectives of your model. right click on them and select 3d mode to get a better idea of what angle you are looking at your model.

    Actually the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were miss named. When they were called Velociraptors it was because Spielberg wanted something more ferocious that a waist high fast little predator. After JP came out they found the skeleton of the Utah Raptor, U. ostrommaysorum. It's approximately the size of the 'Raptors in the movie, more or less. If you wanted something that is scientifically accurate and looked like a skulk I'd go with a Thecodont. It's basically the predecessor of the dinosaurs, birds, alligators, and Pterosaurs all rolled up into one. Only problem is that it's not as fast. Also, the Compsognathus did have claws on it's feet, just not huge frigging scythes. Since the skulk attacks mostly with it's jaws it makes sense.

    Either way I'd love to see this, because of my obvious interest in the subject. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    i saw a dinosoar in real life, he was my best pall, then one day he wanted me to smoke a cigeret, and i was like "pfff you fool u know what that does to u!" and hes like "ya makes me look cool" and im all "you cant man it will get you hooked" and then i saw him pass them out to all the other dinosoars, and they were smoking. so i went over to them and said "if all of you keep doing that your going to go extinct" and they are like "why dont you think out side the box?" and im like "because change scares me, i will keep my bushes" and then i ran away. when is lunch?

    the dinosaurs where named correctly i thinked in jurrassic park, though their heights are questionable, raptors where smaller than that and spinosaurus where smaller aswell, *off topic* Frikk you watch this documentry of a new species of raptors they think they discovered called mega raptors, they were ment to be twice the height of utah raptor

    anyway started again on the model, progressing badly <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> im not doing a proper raptor it's a raptor with huge frigging sycthe like claws on its feet for the leap attack, long claws on its hand
    heres a roughly what it's ment to be like * made it in 5 mins in microsoft paint*

    Heh, that's pretty cool.

    The Thecodont was a group of organisms, not just one species, there were more suitable thecondonts for the skulk than just that picture.

    And, no I haven't seen that program, sounds cool though. Discovery Channel?

    Raptor stands on its 2 hind legs while a skulk stands on its all fours

    i reckon

    fade = Velociraptor
    skulk = Compy's (possibly) maybe baby Stegasaurus
    Gorge = the dinosaur wit hthe rock tail
    ONOs = TRICEROTOPS <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
