Key Board And Mouse Lag

Ok I got a new notebook, with 1.5 ghz Centrino procesor, 256 ram, 40 GB HD, and 32 ATI Radeon Mobility gfx card.

Obviously the first thing I did was install my favorite game (NS) <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> .

BUT, when I play, there is this huge problem. First of all, there`s a huge delay between when I press a key and when the action occurs (example: press "w", 3 seconds later, starts moving).

Also, I can't walk/strafe/use any key while im using the mouse. When i do this, the mouse stops responding until I stop pressing that key.

Can anyone help me?

I've updated all drivers, tried reinstalling, tested in HL, and this only happens in NS.

Edit: Runing Windows XP Pro with OPenGL at 800 x 600 resolution.

    run NS in 98 compbatibility mode, may 'cause a program hang after you close HL so you made need to alt+ctrl+del and end it in processes

    That got it. I can't believe I never thought of that.

    The mouse is USB IR, so I was pretty certain it was a software problem.
