A Question For Public Server Ops

<div class="IPBDescription">General players need not read.</div> Hey folks, I'm just curious about something.....

My public server is going to get shut down sometime in the near future (as in like next week) and it's very conceivable that sometime in the future I may need to playtest new plugins with a larger group than the 1-2 players I can coax into my development server.

So basically I'm curious as to who is open to the idea of helping me out by running experimental plugins every once in a while.

Do any of you think that sounds like something you would be willing to do ? It'd be subject to a case-by-case basis of course. I'm just trying to get a general idea of who to contact in the future when such a situation comes up.

If anyone finds the idea acceptable please let me know.

    ahhh, I always assumed that you would be running as close to vanilla as possible. Meaning that even just testing new stuff would elicit moans and groans from your regulars.

    Would you be able to make a mod that created 'invisible bots/players'. For instance 10 of these players dart in and out of the map in random places (going through walls). Ideally since they are considered players many of the aimbots out there should lock onto them....which can both discourage the use of aim bots and really help people spot them.

    Further it could have osmething built in so if one of these invisible bots gets hit X number of times in a row by the same person, it makes an announcement. Obviously it would take ether an aimbot or a lot of luck to track and hit an invis, randomly moving, object a bunch of times.

    Im no expert on how aimbots work, so this may not even be valid.

    Yeah, sounds possible, but please take it up in another thread. There's a spot in the metamod forums on modns.org just for requests such as this.

    U can use one of our servers for it if u want and can get ftp / ssh to the server etc.
