Chuckle Spamming?

<div class="IPBDescription">whaaaaa??</div> I was just kicked from the Sons of Metal server for "chuckle spamming". Only time i chuckled was when i would kill a marine. My score was like 15/1 and an admin slayed me for chuckling, right after killin him. I probably should have stopped chuckling after killing, but I really didnt see the problem with it. I mean, why even have chuckle if you cant use it? I thought using chuckle was a big part of how the kharra are supposed to act, messing with the marines minds so they cant fight as well hehe.

Anybody else agree with me on this, or was I wrong?

nuff said, it is their server, you listen to their rules (even if those rules are no killing admins)

if you don't like the rules, leave the server, don't post here b/c we don't care, go find their forum and ask (NICELY) why you were baned, or what ever

[SOM] is a great server and the folks that play there are a lot of fun to play with.

Their admins tend to get a little crazy sometimes, especially when it gets late. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>

Just play on the server and enjoy it... after all, we arn't the ones paying for it. :-D

k, guess i didnt make what i was trying to ask clear. i dont care about being kicked, i could go back if i want, but i dont. i was more or less asking if chuckle spamming is a widely known "kickable offense", cause if it is i wont do it anymore. i havent seen any rules on any servers that says not to do it though, so i was wondering.

While arguing with admins is a bad idea, it's easy enough to find a server that recognizes that chuckle is as valid an attack as parasite. I'll be avoiding this server, just like I avoid servers with a rigid "1 gorge only ever, and don't cap nodes at 33" rule.

It depends, were you alone, spamming to freak out a Marine. Or were you constantly chuckling for the heck of it.

I played one game where a group of skulks would move as a group and set up ambushes, and this idiot would join us, constantly spamming chuckle, and ruining our surprise.

It was very annoying.

Well no one will have to worry about spamming chuckle in 1.1, as you can only do it once every few secs.

Irrelevant.

Admins say "don't do X" you don't do X. Period. Just find a different server that wil let you spam chuckle all you want. Right or wrong, fair or not, the admins are always right on their server. If enough people don't like the way the admins run the server it will die.

I got kicked by Slayer also for the same exact thing. Whats funny is the other admins on aliens were saying "Chuckle spam the marines!", so all the aliens did. I guess Slayer is impowered by the all mighty chuckle spam. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'> Also, I kept killing him during the game, so maybe he was just looking for a reason to kick me. Each time I came back he only kicked me after I killed him. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'> Ah well, it's not my server and I still like playing there. I don't let things like that get to me. I just think its strange that what one admin says is ok another admin will kick you for it.

Actually I do care. However it is good to get the other side of the story.
But I do like to hear about servers with overactive admins so I can avoid them.

THough, do try to remember that Chuckling after a kill can be a bit rude. Just like when you are a skulk and some marine is running about yelling : OMG PWNED, with shotgun (if someone cannot kill a skulk with a shotgun they should stop playing NS.)

Why a marine would be upset over a skulk chuckling is beyond me, gives away their permission.

If you get abused by an admin after he has asked you repeatedly to stop, then thats fine.

If he slays and kicks you for the first offence, you are on a crappy server and you should go elsewhere for your NS pleasure.

Remember, admins can be ashsholes too.

You got what you deserved.

I am so royally sick of skulks laughing over and over when they kill you, its pathetic. What is the point? its only just short of typing HAHAHA I KILLED YOU in message mode 1 over and over. People chuckle the most when youve killed them 10 times odd in a row and theyve finally managed to bring you down and sit on your corpse laughing over and over.

Chuckling once when you got a lucky or skilled kill is fair play but doing it all the time is nothing but the noobish and childish and I would ban you aswell.

A) Don't air your problems with a given server/person on the forums. That's NOT what they're here for.

B) Personally I have no problem with spamming chuckle. It's a tactical move that I sometimes use to keep three or even four Marines occupied in their base, trying to 'get' me so I'll shut up. Additionally, it can cover the sound of another Skulk attacking long enough to get the element of surprise for them.

C) The flames have risen far enough. If you have a problem with someone's post, do not flame. If it's not a valid topic (as this one) a moderator will be along to lock it before too long.
