Ok what dumb stuff have you done in NS?

I tried to jump off a rafter onto an onos back, promptly hit the ground, got a lot of damage, and heal sprayed by a gorge following the onos.

Joined marines, Dropped 10 CCs. Then joined aliens and dropped sensory chambers on all their resnodes.

Ok OK just kidding. I would never do something like that. I am pretty sure I would be flayed alive if I did.
However I have seen it happen.

Well, I'd have to say you're not totally dumb. It's still a viable strategy, as is dropping sensory chambers off the start for a gorge. It just required a different style of gameplay that most pubbers aren't willing to explore anymore. I know VERY often my clan and I drop sensory first, right outside the marine spawn in hidden little corners. Not only can we now keep their expansion in check because we can hide from them, we also parasite anyone who makes it past us. As for the TF, it you're playing against particularly bold aliens, and can't spare the extra guy to base guard, a TF and 3-4 turrets is VERY viable. You just then have to pressure the hives more (which you can, you have at least 1 extra marine. I'm just tired of people discounting strategies and yelling "OMG NOOB GORGE/COMM" whenever he doesn't drop stuff how you would.

That said, I have to say the dumbest thing I've ever done is jumping around in docking wing (ns_nothing) to avoid a skulk, and falling into the pit.......many times

This happened on ns_nothing (the one with cargo, i think it's nothing), myself and a few friends were drunk at a LAN, everything was going a bit pair-shaped anyway, we were getting severly beaten down. We didn't much care. We'd relocated to Generator res point and proceeded to go bezerk. As soon as we spawned we were runnign about shotting everywhere, jumping, screaming on voice comms, shouting that we were gonna die, and we were scared. Then in a blaze of fury in all the commotion, we'd jump down the hole in the middle.

Then repeated to do this every time we spawned.

Was much fun, but as we all know, annoying server admin isn't pretty smart <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

The dumbest thing i think i have ever done is gone AFK whilst protecting the Viaduct hive on NS_Nothing. i was on the ceiling in the corner. i got back 5 minutes ater and the marines had the hive and where building a tower of marines so that they could get to knife me whilst i was gone. i was so shocked wen i came bck i pressed the duck button and fell where a mine was waiting. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'>

I think covering the entire of ns_nancy's bridge (marine start) with mines while we were losing was pretty stupid.

The server amazingly didn't crash with over 100 mines around the room, but as soon as the first acid rocket came in the server just had time to show one frame of the entire marine team and every single structure (except the cc, with me still hiding in it <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'> ) going up in smoke before it gave a final stutter and died...

oh and annoying server admins - it isnt helpful to the future of your NS playing experience... <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'>

I was a fade with three hives on ns_nothing. I was at the marine start killing marines with bilebomb, when one of the hives was killed by a JP/HMGer. I quickly tried to switch to acid rocket so I could continue killing marines, but I accidentally switched to blink instead. Well, I was the last marine left on ns_nothing. I was ramboing (well what else can you do when you have no ips or cc's) and I came across an rt. Naturally I started to knife it. It wasn't until I turned around that I noticed

Well about the reporter thing............. i do a ns site but no forum so I post here. I think this forum needs alot of questions and I thought the questions I asked are fun and interesting just like a good read from your answers to my questions.

I blinked to kill a marine once... Except, I landed inside the marine somehow. I was already swiping by that point, drained all my energy, and was stuck. This was before I knew the server had /stuck (or had ever seen it). It was... interesting.

lmao ! i did some thing similar to. i once bound a key to say_team "going gorg to cap res. will ungorg after!" and made it start evolve 2. so id evolve into my nice fade morph then catch the bind heh.

Was gorge on ns_tanith. We had sat comm, and marines were working hard to lock down cargo storage. Got a couple res towers, then went back to sat comm to build DCs so the team could mount a counter-attack. My mind and hand were not synchronized properly... I went the wrong way in the menu and built a movement chamber instead. I knew it the second I saw the movement chamber plop down that I'd just lost the game for our team. I apologized repeatedly and swore to myself over and over. Nothing to do at that point other than build two more movements and hope they can use celerity or silence to overcome the upgraded marines. It was no use. We managed to build waste after much effort, and finally got some defense chambers built, but by that time the marines were completely upgraded and just decimated our forces, with no res to do much at all. So one slip in the menu system and the game was over. Makes me wish aliens could undo building of a structure.

I saved my res for the whole round so I could become an onos. This was on ns_caged. I was making my way to the marine base (they didn't relocate) then I stopped to type. Then all of a sudden I could hear marine taunting. Two seconds later about 6 fully upgraded heavies walked around the corner.

-Hiding all peacefully then diciding its a good idea to shoot the onos passing by.

-falling to my death a gazillion times from a four foot ledge cause i forgot that i only got 5 health left.

-deciding that just maybee i can zigzag my way threw those 15 ocs with webs.

-deciding that maybee i could finish typing this sentence before that skulk running at me at the end of the hall gets here.
