Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could make an imperial guard model for light armor. I'd realy appreciate it since I have no modeling skills. Thanks a bunch..

    mhm... it WAS already requested when all this WH40k stuff started... but they decided to use the space marine for the LA cause he had the "jetpack abilities" on his side <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    When I looked at the topics title I thought the author ws in for a good flaming because I thought he was asking for one of the long-robed Imperial guards from Star Wars.

    Plastic? Plastic is Mage Knight, my friend. Warhammer is predominantly pewter.

    Alternatively, stick em in the microwave and watch your microwave explode?

    The colors are just placeholders naturally.

    And, some not so subtle tweaks to keep the polys down under 1,000 <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Still working on some scaleing issues like eeore, the giant magazine <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Looking pretty good so far.

    I wouldn't worry about slicing off the backfaces either, it's not like you'd ever see them in game unless you made some kinda crazy reload anims..

    Very, very nice.

    But maybe you can save those backfaces. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You have a LOT of detail that can be simulated by a good skin. Those boxes in the side of the reciever can be skinned on. The grooves on the barrel can be skinned on. The barrel itself can be turned into a six-sided cylinder. You can lower the amount of detail on the stock (judging on the size of the gun, the only time you'll ever really see it would be on reload) The scope looks nice and long, you might be able to pull it off six-sided if you have a good skin that can hide the edges.

    *edit* I forgot about that Picatinny/Weaver rail. That can be skinned too. Nice job on that by the way, looks nice <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The new placcie cadians would kick total butt in ns.

    I want a bayonet on the rifle <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

    (maybe also as a knife replacement...? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    I think that can be arranged.
    The revised model is only 800 polys, but it's gonna need some excellent skinners to replace my beautiful details! <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I had to scale the gun down to match the bayonet, I hope it scaled uniformly.

    Burn - a good polycount to aim for is 1000, so if you have your model there at 800 or so, you've got a wholle 200 for little details. That's how I do things - get no-frills models done, then fill up the "rest" of the polycount with details.
