    I just tryed tenebrea and I have just set the record for lowest frame rate EVER!



    It was a whopping 3 seconds per frame!

    Correct. Excuse me, it's Quake3, on the otherhand though, it's based on the Tenebrae1 code because Quake3 source hasn't been released.

    tenebrae is a modification of the quake1 source code that allows realtime lighting, bumpmapping, and pixel shaders (I think), which is basically the technology used in DOOM3. Of course its not COMPLETELY up to par on the newer games coming out but it's really, really awesome.

    And then they were going to do a similar thing for quake3, hence tenebrae2.

    I don't think you can port a rendering system, but what do I know.

    If the HL1 engine source was released, I'm sure they could code a version of tenebrae for HL, but it wouldn't be as easy as just porting it over.

    Where the hell did everyone get the idea the HL used the Quake 2 engine? If anybody still thinks it does, well, it doesn't, simple as that, valve already said that it used the Quake 1 engine, many times I imagine.

    It uses quake2 network code. Hence the confusion.
