<div class="IPBDescription">Pilot attend!</div> So thanks to a recent breakthrough I've had in modding for Freespace 2, I started to wonder what one of the ships in the game would look like in NS. So far my efforts have resulted in my first victim: The GTAt Medusa Mk. II <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Based on the GTB Medusa I converted from Freespace 2, the Meddy-Two features an upgraded payload capacity allowing it to carry two UD-08 Kayser next-generation plasma weapons, two massive platforms on the sides capable of any myriad of missiles and inertia bombs - most notably the GTVA's newest addition to their inventory, the Meson II. Specially converted into an assault transport by the Special Operations Command, the Medusa Mk. II features improved armor and electronic warfare systems, while sacrificing speed and maneuverability. However, equipped with the new Subach Industries energy system which replicates the same power grid found in the Alliance's Vasudan counterparts, the Medusa Mk. II is capable of outrunning and outmaneuvering - not to mention outgunning - any other transport-type vessel in known space.

    /me puts Ferrin out to pasture....

    although, Ferrin would fly circles around that behemoth

    Ferrin pwns, yours is an original concept. Don't get rid of it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And we'll see who flys circles around whom, Ace. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Holy crap, i just releaized Ferrin could probably fit into your Cargo bay....

    /me mounts giant array on Ferrin so Jaeger's cargo bay insertion becomes impossible

    Work on the inside and that would be an excellent starting point for marines in any map.

    Thats exactly what i was thinking- if you fit about 8 in there, it would be an awesome starting point.

    That was my original intent to model the crew and some scattered ground equipment. Generators, fuelers, and an ordinance carrier.

    Unfortunately, that would put the polies through the roof. It's at 474 right now, and I suppose I could work up some more detail on the interior, however as this is intended to be a map model, I'm trying my hardest to keep this *useable* on minimum-spec machines.

    Nice idea, I've been wanting to see how a Mosquito would look in NS.

    Problem is though, Sony has strict copyright rules, and in their EULA it states that you aren't allowed to copy or reproduce anything they have made without written consent. Blizzard is okay, Sony will hunt you down though if you do it.

    I once recreated a Galaxy dropship back in March. Needless to say my post was deleted, my status as a private beta tester removed, and a polite warning to get rid of it. =/

    I can't blame them though. Corporate sabotage has gotten to be a real problem in the gaming industry as of late.

    Nice ship, I may need one or two for atmosphere in ns_senria, custom anims job. Nothing complicated, just the ship flying around a bit.
