Holy Crappy Terrain Batman! I don't think I've seen a ground texture that blurry since Quake 2! And you gotta love that 8bit texture on the rocks, really shows off the amazingly low poly enviorment.
I don't mind low poly levels, they can look better then high poly levels sometimes. Its all in the textures though, for example, Renegade, old game. It had very blocky enviorments, but the textures were so amazingly crisp and aligned so well it was hard to tell.
Im hoping they are working out the textures, because the cars look so out of place in those screenshots with the blurry, blocky, terrain.
The game looks good but I prefer F-Zero style racers.
Game-Cube perhaps
great, another unoriginal sequel name
Yeah, some of those pictures look pretty darn cool, but others look awfully pixelated, as several people have noted. And once it's in action, the 2-dimensional skyboxes won't help much either. Could be pretty without the texture misalignments, though, and those cars look pretty nice.
second - People have to remember that when the game actually comes out the textures will have been crispened, refined and then refined some more. GT (GRan Turismo) games have always been breathtaking in their graphics because they pay so much attention to the cars and the enviroment.
Remember people, your still looking at photoes of a game in development.
Instead of nitpicking *those textures are too bland* and *those graphics are so pixelated* remember that it's built for the PS2, which means it doesn't have the Next-Gen technology and it doesn't have the GeForce4billion or whatever. I'd say it looks impressive for a machine that runs with dittly for ram.
But I want more pictures of the New York track, at night also.
Peoples, the game looks a hell lot better when you PLAY it, not on pictures. Also if a picture is raised to 800x640, the picture can be weird and the graphics looks "awful" but that’s because PS2 can only have 640x480 in resolution. I can promise you and say that it will be much much better when you play it.
Here are some videos of the game, Ingame of course.

I have a 19" tv and a 27", both really high quality. and the 27" cost less then a 1600x1200 monitor.
All the goodness of GT with online play.
