Just in case someone wanted an ftp server as opposed to a client, this one kicks much bum. Its about 21.6 Kb and theres no user interface, just edit a .conf file and run the thing, it disapears into the background and you have to kill the process to stop it:
I'm surprised <a href='http://www.smartftp.com' target='_blank'>SmartFTP</a> hasn't been mentioned yet. It's free for non-corporate users and it's got loads of function and an intuitive interface.

there are other really good ones but you dont need anything better than Bullertproof if you are gunna use it as a client not as a host
