<div class="IPBDescription">help with plugins and CD</div> Hey everyone, we're trying to make a dedicated server and this is our first time. We're trying to use adminmod to use some plugins including cheating death. We were able to get the server up and running but the cheating death plugin doesn't work. We kept reading the manual and other documents but we still cannot get CD to work. We also need help with installing other plugins.     well, i can't help you with the server setup right now, but there is a lot of documentation on it if you use the search menu, one thing that I do know is where the unstuck plugin is. It is with most of every other mod that you can get for Natural Selection.     That isn't helping us at all, it seems like everyone assumes that it is easy to use metamod and adminmod but it really isn't <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> We've tried the search option but we don't know what to type to get the answers.

    What type of Server are you running? Is it Windows? Is it Linux? Also, we need version numbers please. Such as Windows 2000. or Red Hat 9.0 or Windows 95.

    Would you also be so kind as to tell us what version of Admin Mod you are using.

    I'm pitying you very very much.

    But that aside, Let's get down to business.

    1) Download HLServer from your favourite download host <a href='http://www.fileplanet.com/files/50000/59236.shtml' target='_blank'>(Here is the link for FilePlanet, but they are painful to use)</a>

    2) Download Adminmod from www.AdminMod.org <a href='http://www.adminmod.org/index.php?go=downloads' target='_blank'>(The adminmod download page)</a> Do yourself a favour and get the zip file WITHOUT mysql.

    3) Download Cheating Death from www.UnitedAdmins.com <a href='http://www.unitedadmins.com/cdeath-dl.php' target='_blank'>(Here is the link to the UA CD Download Page. Get the Win32 Server download)</a>

    4) Run the HLServer setup file. Make sure it installs to "C:\HLServer" and NO WHERE ELSE! Adminmod and other goodies for windows need this location, otherwise you will need to modify some things that you're already having troubles with.

    5) Now unzip the metamod.zip file to: "c:\HLServer\" Make sure that the "keep directory structure" box is checked.

    6) open windows explorer and go to "c:\HLserver\Adminmod\Scripting" and run the "insall_admin.vbs" file that you find there. <a href='http://www.adminmod.org/help/online/Installing/Running_the_Installation_Script.htm' target='_blank'>Follow these instructions, replacing "C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\" with "C:\HLServer"</a>

    7) Start the server up. Make sure that it works.

    When you're past this point I'll post mroe information. Right now I have to get back to bashing my head against my keyboard so that my boss will be happy.

    an investment in 2k would be a good bet.. winME is a resource hog and your going to run into alot of issues.. just remember with ME reboot daily...

    I agree in getting 2k

    I would but my parents say were good with what we have

    ME is bad in generall, and I've suffered with it for a long time, if your serious about having your server be good, don't use ME.

    When adminmod and metamod are working unzip the cdmod.dll into addons/metamod/cdeath then open the plugins.ini file located in addons/metamod and add the line win32 addons/metamod/cdeath/cdmod.dll now add cdrequired -1 0 or 1 (-1 being deactivated 0 being optional and 1 being required) into your server.cfg. Now shutdown the server and boot it up CD will work fine now. <a href='http://forums.modns.org' target='_blank'>http://forums.modns.org</a> for plugins.
