Ok sorry i'm new but i was just playing a game and i kept trying to build resource collectors, i was next to a resource nod and i would be on top of it and each time i would select the resource collector from the menu it would put one on top of it. is there something special i need to do to build these. I would right click then select the resource collector from the menu and it would make a sound but it wouldn't build it. What am i doing wrong?

To build anything, either as a gorge on the alien side or as a marine, hold down your "use" key (by default the key is 'e') while looking at the unfinished building. Also you'll probably find it helpful to not be standing directly on top of the resource nozzle when you right click to build it. It is usually preferable to be staring at the nozzle while standing a few steps away from it (other wise you can accidently build the resource tower on top of yourself.)
1. You need to be a gorge.
2. You need the rescources to make the building. the RP cost is listed in the () to the right of the item. If there is no cost, that item can't be built right now. Your resources are represented by the blue bar to the right, with ##/100 next to it. The former number is the number of RP you have, the latter is the max. The max changes in 1.04 based on the number of hives.
0-1 hives = 33 RP
2 hives = 66 RP
3 hives = 100 RP
Gorges allways have a max of 100, however.
3. Face where you want to place the building. Do not stand where you want to place it, the building is dropped right in front of you, and not where you are standing. Rescource nodes need to be build on a nozzle. Hives need to be build at a hive location (marked on hivesight and by a hologram-like hive.).
4. When the building is dropped, it isn't completed. In order to do this, you can leave it sit for a while, but you can build much faster by getting close to the building and pressing your "use" key. You can tell when this is effective by it's tell-tale sound and anim.
5. When the building's health ring fills, then turns from brown to green, congratuations, the building is completed. Now, go build somthing else.
Is it on ns_hera at the place with 2 resource nozzles? Because they've changed the radius of where to stand to build the RT and if one of the nozzles' occupied the other can't be built without some "tricks".
And yes, you do not stand ON the resource node, but actually stand a bit awy from it to build the tower. Basiclly, at the edge of the grey thing on the floor, and it will build fine.

TBH m8, imho you are doing that the hard way
When you build the first of those two it will always be the left one, if you want to build the other one just stand on the upper right corner and face away from the nozzle... seems a little bit easier than going up the ramp, on the railing etc etc... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

This will get you both RT's and is the easiest way I've heard of for the aliens to build it up till now.
As for buidling it while on the Rine team, I have been told that you should Build the first one, and to build the other one you have to click to the right of the "rectangle" area:

If you have no hives, you cannot build anything.
... except a new hive. If you don't have the res for that, good luck.
