lack there-of intelligence?
Okay -- So far the beta discussion forums have been opened up and apparently they are for "Veterans" and Playtesters alike to discuss the game. What I can't understand however; is why on these forums are meaningless comments post "OMG this is overpowered" or "OMG nothing works" Aren't people in the "Veteran" or playtesting group aware that these things are ridiculous beyond the point of reason?
To me, a group of people dedicated to a task and supposedly the "BEST" of the game shouldn't post stuff that belongs in the Suggestions & Ideas forum or in the General forums. So I think my question is, why did people who make things like this even "make the grade" ?

I think it is of great importance that they discuss those issues, in my view there is even too little discussion about 1.1.
and coil, referint to the PTs as "the best" isn't really appropriate...
There are many more posts in the PT and Vets forum specifically where we bander around ideas and possible solutions with eachother. But the feedback threads are exactly that, feedback on gameplay and not game design.
The Beta forum is new and as Mouse has stated it allows PTs and Vets to discuss builds together. In this you're going to get a mixture of feedback, opinions and suggestions, because this is the only place the PTs and Vets come together.

I wish I could determine the skill of someone by just reading what they write.
If you had posted about the dim-witted ideas and their creators in S & I for example, you would have been flamed to within an inch of your life. The PTs and Vets could easily have done the same but instead responded in a wonderful manner.
This fact in itself shows the value of the PTs and Vets.
300th post btw ;D
They were not selected to post in the beta forums, they were selected to try new and creative strats.
But a lack of intelligence? seems a bit harsh to me :/

P.S.: If you belive your server is filled with the "best" of ns then please tell me so i can see your deffinition of "best". Once ns 1.1 is out i would like for the list of servers that these "vetrans" play on.

Anyhow, We play on any server we wish, most of us have our own clan servers. Yes, Flayra had played with us before. Many others have played with Flayra too. We are by majority American white anglo-saxon protestants between the ages of 16 - 20. We also have many people in the group that do not fit that description. We are here to test the game and make it better for everybody, not to look out for some political, racial, social agenda.
Edited again. =\
But anyway, getting way too indepth here...I just think it's nothing BAD that people are stating their opinions

Most people didnt have problems with jetpackers infinite fuel in 1.04. Only pubbers when they got their hive jp hmged, and yes, that was a quick game.

So, most people would mean almost the entire NS community right? I've yet to meet one person, clanner or "pubber", who thought that infinite fuel on the jps was balanced. Go through the forums and I'll be amazed if you found one person who wanted to keep infinite fuel. Secondly, only pubbers got their hive jp/hmged huh? Wow, so no clan anywhere used the most effective marine stratagy in 1.04 to win games? Well I'm a clanner, I play extensivley on the australian clan ladder and WOW! We ALL use jp/hmg to win matches.
When the veterans make comments like this is gets me mad, mainly for the reason that it smacks of elitism. The public server players greatly outnumber the clanners, but we should just be swept aside because we lack your "uber "elite" skillz"? It may be very likely that with this sort of attitude the patch will be released and be vastly unbalanced. Look at 1.04, aliens will win 70% or so of pub games, marines will almost always win clan games. Will this be continued in 1.1? Because comments such as the one above lead me directly to that conclusion.
or is your clan server open? If its open then please tell me the ip once 1.1 is out. Id like to play with more skilled people such as the "vetrans". I would assumed that these "vetrans" and "clanners" knew tha leap did 400 damage and that a skulk can kill a fully upgraded ha marine in 2 seconds, But yet agian i was wrong, This is the reason i question the skill of these "vetrans".
Did you know that leap damage in 1.04 is framerate dependant?
NightCrawler: The veteran team was picked out of the top10 list of clans which was ranked through cal and the NSA-I tourny. If you want to play on "clan" servers just look at the names as they ushally have the tag listed by the server. Although clans dont ushally play on public servers as they are scrimming most of the time. If they are pubbing its ushally on random servers that they ping best to. Also, Its your opinion on how you rate the "skill" of the veteran group and since you have yet to play with the veteran group I'm not going to respond to your comments.
We do, We have, in this thread and in others.
...and one could argue that the least the community could do is be thankful for what they are trying to do instead of posting threads to mock them. No matter your opinions of any playtesting group, they are providing a service to the mod, and to the community at large by voicing their opinions. They require neither your praise, nor your cheap shots. They will continue to do what they were chosen to do. Make NS a better game for everyone.
Back to the point, read the title when you reply and don't go astray too far...
I trust the developers choices on who is a "veteran", and although I think that I am qualified, whatever, I respect most of the decisions recently made.
We do not need to flame and this is definitely a thread that needs to be given the
